About the Role
Ascen is seeking a proactive and seasoned HR Business Partner with 5 to 8 years of experience to join our team. Reporting directly to the Director of HR, you will serve as a critical link between HR operations and our workforce, ensuring a high level of service and compliance across the organization.
The ideal candidate thrives in fast-paced environments, specifically those with large hourly workforces, and possesses a deep understanding of employee relations and claims management.
Key Responsibilities
Employee Relations & Compliance
- Act as the primary point of contact for employee relations issues, conducting thorough investigations and providing coaching to managers.
- Oversee HR Investigations
- Manage and respond to UI (Unemployment Insurance) claims, representing the company in hearings as necessary.
- Oversee EPLI (Employment Practices Liability Insurance) claims management and related documentation to mitigate organizational risk.
Benefits & Leave Administration
- Serve as the subject matter expert for benefits questions, assisting employees with enrollment, plan changes, and claims resolution.
- Execute day-to-day benefits-related tasks and audits to ensure data integrity.
- Manage time-off requests and leaves of absence (FMLA, ADA, etc.) in compliance with state and federal laws.
HR Operations & Staffing
- Handle daily HR administrative tasks, including maintaining employee records and processing status changes.
- Answer daily HR questions with staffing partners, end clients, and employees
- Collaborate with the Director of HR to implement and refine HR policies and procedures.
Qualifications
- Experience: 5- 8 years of progressive HR experience.
- Certification: Must hold a SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, or PHR certification.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Industry Knowledge: Proven experience managing a large hourly workforce or background in high-volume staffing is highly preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with HRIS platforms and an aptitude for claims management software.
