The Opportunity

As an Assistant Controller at 82i, you are building the operational foundation of great finance organizations.

You already understand core accounting and financial operations. In this role, you will deepen your ability to:

  • Own the integrity of financial data and reporting
  • Build scalable accounting processes and controls
  • Support leadership with reliable, decision-ready financial information
  • Operate inside growing, often messy environments
  • Develop judgment around priorities, risk, and accuracy

This is not a back-office processing role.

This is a business-critical role focused on building financial infrastructure that leaders rely on.What You’ll Do

You will be embedded inside growing companies, supporting Controllers, CFOs, and Engagement Managers in building accurate, scalable accounting operations.

In this role, you will:

  • Own or support month-end close, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation
  • Maintain the general ledger and ensure accuracy across transactions and classifications
  • Oversee or coordinate AP, AR, payroll, and other core accounting processes
  • Support cash tracking and basic cash flow visibility
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and client accounting policies
  • Identify and implement process improvements and documentation
  • Prepare schedules and support audits, tax filings, and external reporting
  • Partner with Controllers and EMs to ensure financial data supports planning and decision-making
