About the Company

Lumina Advisors is a creative consulting firm dedicated to delivering innovative design solutions that enhance how people experience and interact with physical spaces. Through thoughtful environmental graphics, wayfinding systems, placemaking strategies, and branded environments, we help organizations create meaningful, functional, and visually engaging experiences. Our collaborative, remote-first culture encourages creativity, continuous learning, and professional growth while maintaining a healthy work-life balance. We believe great design comes from diverse perspectives, teamwork, and a passion for solving complex visual communication challenges.

About the Role

Lumina Advisors is seeking a creative and detail-oriented Experiential Graphic Designer (EGD) to join our design team. This opportunity is ideal for a junior to mid-level designer looking to grow within the field of environmental graphic design, wayfinding, and placemaking. Working closely with senior designers and cross-functional teams, you will contribute throughout the entire project lifecycle—from concept development and design presentations to construction documentation, fabrication support, and installation. Comprehensive mentorship and professional development are provided to help you expand your technical and creative expertise.

Responsibilities

  • Develop creative design concepts for environmental graphics, wayfinding systems, and placemaking projects.
  • Prepare design presentations, mood boards, concept sketches, diagrams, and client presentation materials.
  • Create wayfinding diagrams, schematic design options, elevations, renderings, and visualizations.
  • Assist in developing construction documentation and production-ready artwork.
  • Design environmental graphics, donor recognition walls, signage systems, and branded environments.
  • Collaborate with project managers, architects, fabricators, and multidisciplinary design teams.
  • Review shop drawings, color samples, prototypes, and fabrication materials.
  • Support construction administration by monitoring fabrication and installation quality.
  • Ensure design consistency, accuracy, and adherence to project specifications.
  • Participate in design reviews, brainstorming sessions, and client meetings.
  • Maintain organized project files and documentation throughout each project phase.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Environmental Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Architecture, Interior Design, Industrial Design, or a related field.
  • 1–5 years of professional graphic design or experiential design experience.
  • Portfolio demonstrating strong visual design, typography, branding, and presentation skills.
  • Experience with signage, wayfinding, environmental graphics, exhibition design, or placemaking is preferred.
  • Familiarity with construction documentation and production artwork is an advantage.
  • Experience collaborating with architects, fabricators, or multidisciplinary project teams is desirable.
  • Ability to thrive in a creative, fast-paced, and collaborative work environment.

Required Skills

  • Strong graphic design, typography, and visual communication skills.
  • Excellent understanding of layout, composition, color theory, and branding principles.
  • Creative problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to design quality.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Experience creating presentations, renderings, and visual design concepts.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within remote teams.
  • Knowledge of environmental graphic design and wayfinding principles is preferred.
  • Proficiency with industry-standard design software, including:
  • Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign)
  • Adobe Acrobat
  • Figma or similar collaborative design tools (preferred)
  • SketchUp, Rhino, AutoCAD, or similar visualization software (preferred)
