About Sybilla Technologies

Sybilla Technologies designs, builds and operates robotic optical observatories for monitoring objects in space. The company specializes in the complete systems, software for automated data acquisition, analysis, and scheduling of networks of sensors. We work in the domains of Space Situational Awareness, Space Surveillance and Tracking, Space Traffic Management, Near Earth Objects, stellar and planetary research, education, and commercial on-demand observations.

We are looking for a Business Development Manager (Public & Defense Sector) to join our team.

Your mission is to identify new business opportunities, influence early-stage procurement decisions, and open doors to clients who rely on the data, tools, and reliability we deliver. You will shape strategic account plans, build long-term trust, and collaborate across technical, legal, and proposal teams to craft compelling, competitive offers.

You’ll thrive in this role if you are proactive, entrepreneurial, and confident navigating complex public-sector environments. Success requires the ability to work independently, think strategically, and transform ambiguity into structured opportunities.

If you are inspired by the idea of shaping the future of the space domain through practical innovation and meaningful institutional partnerships, this challenge is for you.

Your responsibilities:

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities in the public and defense sectors (e.g. ministries, agencies, ecosystem players).
  • Build relationships with key decision-makers and technical stakeholders (e.g. MoD, ESA, EDA, EC, NASA).
  • Influence client thinking to align upcoming tenders and partnerships with our capabilities.
  • Create and execute strategic account plans in collaboration with internal teams (proposal, delivery, legal).
  • Qualify tender opportunities and support the proposal team with contextual and strategic insights.
  • Prepare client-facing commercial proposals (non-tender), coordinating input from technical, legal, and business stakeholders.
  • Develop and deliver tailored sales presentations using both internal and external resources.
  • Share market insights with leadership and product teams to inform strategy and innovation.
  • Maintain accurate CRM records and provide reliable sales forecasts.
  • Represent the company at trade events, conferences, and public-sector forums.

Requirements:

  • Mandatory: 3+ years of experience in B2G sales, business development, or strategic partnerships in the public sector.
  • Proven track record working with government agencies, public institutions, or regulated markets.
  • Solid understanding of public procurement (tenders, grants, RFPs) and early-stage opportunity shaping.
  • Confident in leading strategic meetings, managing stakeholders, and influencing decisions.
  • Experienced with CRM tools for pipeline management and forecasting.
  • Fluent in English (C1+) - advanced Polish is a plus.
  • Proactive, independent, and self-driven, able to spot untapped opportunities and drive results.

Nice to have:

  • Experience in B2G markets in Central & Western Europe (Poland, Germany, France, UK) or the USA, particularly in space, defense, or government IT sectors.
  • Existing relationships with key institutions such as ESA, NASA, EDA, or the European Commission.
  • Background or familiarity with STEM disciplines (space, engineering, AI), especially for engagement with technical stakeholders or shaping complex solutions - not mandatory if offset by strong public-sector business development experience.

Terms of employment:

  • Remote employment model (main office is in Bydgoszcz/Zielonka).
  • Ability to travel to remote sites (on a need basis) and to headquarters (once per quarter).
  • Salary: 11,000–15,000 PLN gross (UoP) or 88–125 PLN/hour (B2B), depending on experience and qualifications.
  • Working in a fast-growing company in the prestigious Space industry.
  • Full-time job & flexible work time.
  • Medical package (Luxmed) and sports package (Multisport) - for candidates based in Poland.
  • “Telescope Thursdays” – the opportunity to use our facilities for personal, hobbyist observations.
