The Vice President of Finance & Accounting will serve as a key member of the leadership team, responsible for overseeing all financial operations, accounting functions, and financial strategy. This role requires a highly analytical and operationally strong leader who thrives in a startup environment and is comfortable building systems, processes, and teams from the ground up.

The ideal candidate brings deep experience in small company or startup environments, particularly within SaaS or recurring revenue models.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership

  • Partner with the CEO and executive team to drive financial strategy and long-term growth planning
  • Lead financial forecasting, budgeting, and multi-year planning processes
  • Provide data-driven insights to support business decisions and operational scalability
  • Support fundraising efforts, investor reporting, and board presentations
  • Develop KPIs and financial dashboards aligned with SaaS metrics (ARR, MRR, CAC, LTV, churn, etc.)

Financial Operations & Accounting

  • Oversee all accounting operations including general ledger, AP/AR, payroll, revenue recognition, and month-end close
  • Ensure GAAP compliance and maintain strong internal controls
  • Build and optimize financial systems and processes
  • Manage cash flow forecasting and treasury functions
  • Coordinate annual audits and manage relationships with external auditors and tax advisors
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local reporting requirements

Infrastructure & Scaling

  • Implement scalable financial systems and tools
  • Establish policies and procedures appropriate for a growing SaaS business
  • Build and mentor a high-performing finance and accounting team
  • Evaluate and manage risk across the organization

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in finance and accounting
  • 5+ years in a leadership role within a small company or startup environment (SaaS strongly preferred)
  • Proven experience building finance infrastructure from early-stage through growth phases
  • Strong knowledge of SaaS revenue models and recurring revenue accounting
  • Experience leading budgeting, forecasting, and cash management in high-growth companies
  • Demonstrated experience supporting fundraising and investor relations
  • Deep understanding of GAAP and financial controls
  • U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident
  • Must reside within the United States (fully remote position)

Preferred

  • CPA strongly preferred
  • Experience with venture-backed companies
  • Experience preparing a company for acquisition or IPO
  • Familiarity with SaaS financial tools (e.g., NetSuite, QuickBooks, SaaS analytics platforms)
