ICODOS is a clean-tech company developing deep-tech solutions to combat climate change and create a more sustainable future. We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer – Static & Rotating Equipment (m/f/d) for a remote role based in Germany or Spain.
Your mission
Own the mechanical design and specification of rotating and static equipment for ICODOS plants — from design criteria and equipment selection through construction-ready specifications, procurement, construction and operating plants.
What you will achieve
• Specify, select and deliver rotating equipment packages for small and medium e-methanol plants, including compressors, pumps and blowers.
• Prepare datasheets, technical specifications, sealing and lubrication concepts, vibration and rotordynamic requirements, and sizing calculations in line with API 610, API 617, API 682 and applicable codes.
• Design and specify static equipment such as pressure vessels, heat exchangers, tanks and columns, including design calculations, datasheets, material requisitions and mechanical general arrangement drawings.
• Develop equipment-engineering standards, specification templates, vendor-documentation requirements, technical-evaluation criteria and acceptance criteria.
• Evaluate vendors, prepare technical bid comparisons and recommendations, and review and approve vendor deliverables.
• Coordinate across disciplines and with external stakeholders.
• Support in-house engineering automation and streamline ICODOS plant development.
What you bring
• A bachelor's or master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• At least 8 years of experience in rotating-equipment design and specification within plant engineering, ideally in the chemical process sector.
• Strong knowledge of API 610, API 617, API 682 and other applicable international codes and standards.
• Experience specifying and selecting compressors, pumps and related machinery, including sealing, lubrication, vibration and rotordynamic assessment.
• Experience contributing mechanical input to vessel and static-equipment design and manufacturing.
• A proven track record in vendor evaluation and technical bid comparison for rotating equipment.
• Familiarity with piping and process interfaces, including nozzle loads, layout and integration. Power-to-X experience is a plus.
• Ownership mentality, systematic problem-solving, engineering rigor, process-safety awareness and excellent communication skills.
