APC Communications Role

The Association for Progressive Communications (APC) is seeking a Communications Outreach and Engagement Lead for a full-time remote position. This role is ideal for professionals passionate about digital rights, social justice, and feminist values, offering a chance to work with a global network dedicated to making the internet a force for good.

Purpose of the Position

This role focuses on boosting APC's visibility and engagement with media, members, and civil society, particularly in the Global South. You'll report to the Communications Manager and collaborate across teams to advance APC's mission.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement outreach strategies aligned with organizational goals.
  • Engage the community through newsletters like Community Updates and tailored communications.
  • Strengthen social media presence by creating content and managing online campaigns.
  • Handle media relations, including press releases and media digests.
  • Monitor and report on communication performance.
  • Cover events globally and develop outreach plans.

Candidate Profile

APC looks for candidates with at least four years of experience in communications, especially in the Global South. Essential skills include:

  • Proficiency in social media management and content creation.
  • Experience with digital rights advocacy and feminist approaches.
  • Fluent in English; knowledge of Spanish, Portuguese, or French is a plus.
  • Based in or connected to Africa or Asia.
  • Ability to work remotely across cultures and time zones.

Remuneration and Terms

  • Salary: USD 41,000 – USD 60,000 annually (adjusted based on location and experience).
  • Contract: Full-time, renewable after a four-month probation.
  • Benefits: Office allowances, flexible hours, and international exposure.
