Role Description This full-time remote role combines responsibilities of a Technical Consultant, Solutions Architect, and Pre-sales Engineer to support research administration systems and related technologies. The individual will work closely with internal stakeholders and external partners to understand business needs, analyze requirements, and translate them into effective technical solutions. Day-to-day activities include configuring and supporting research administration platforms, troubleshooting technical issues, and providing timely technical support to end users. The role will design and present solution demonstrations, develop technical documentation, and contribute to training materials that promote adoption and best practices. The individual will also assist with pre-sales and solution evaluation activities, such as preparing functional and technical proposals, conducting needs assessments, and advising leadership on system enhancements and integrations. Collaboration with cross-functional teams, including IT, compliance, and research leadership, will be essential to ensure that tools and workflows align with institutional policies and research objectives.
Qualifications
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex requirements, evaluate technical options, and design scalable, compliant solutions.
- Consulting experience, including requirements gathering, stakeholder engagement, and communicating technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Hands-on technical support and troubleshooting skills, with experience diagnosing and resolving application, configuration, and integration issues.
- Background in sales or pre-sales engineering, including solution presentations, product demonstrations, and contributing to technical proposals.
- Experience with research administration systems, enterprise software, or similar workflow-driven platforms is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a remote environment, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to create clear documentation, training materials, and user guidance.
- Bachelor’s degree in information systems, computer science, business, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Familiarity with higher education or research environments, and an understanding of compliance, data security, and process improvement principles, is a plus.
