Social Content Creator (TikTok/Instagram)
Job Description
Posted on: March 10, 2026
🏳️🌈 Who We Are
More than half of LGBTQIA+ people experienced anxiety or depression last year, yet affirming mental health support remains painfully out of reach. Voda is changing that.
We're building a mental health app that actually centres LGBTQIA+ lives: designed by queer clinicians, grounded in community, and built to feel like it's for us.
Over 50,000 people across 140+ countries use Voda. Apple's featured us as "App of the Day" in 37+ countries.
But the thing that matters most is that people tell us it's the first mental health app that actually feels like it was made for them.
✨ Your Role
We're looking for a Social Content Creator who can film, edit, and ship short-form content consistently, turning Voda's mission into content that helps more LGBTQIA+ people discover Voda.
This isn't a channel management role, more so a creation role. You'll be the person behind our social voice: creating consistently, iterating quickly, and bringing genuine cultural fluency to everything you make.
We'll complement your work with UGC creators and partnerships over time, but the core content rhythm starts with you.
We're especially excited about people who are already active in queer spaces online, understand LGBTQIA+ culture intuitively, and bring a sharp, intelligent sense of humour.
This role is perfect if you're passionate about mental wellbeing and want to tangibly impact the LGBTQIA+ community.
Tasks
- Create and publish short-form video content for TikTok and Instagram (YouTube Shorts where relevant) on a consistent cadence.
- Own the creative process end-to-end: ideation, scripting, filming (or directing), editing, and posting. We'll assist, but you'll be expected to take the lead.
- Translate product features and mental health themes into social-native content which are deeply human: not overly clinical and culturally competent.
- Test formats, hooks, and angles weekly.
- Track what works, double down on what resonates.
- Keep Voda's tone consistent: affirming, culturally competent, trauma-informed, and not pandering.
- Share simple performance updates with the team: what's working, what's not, what to try next.
Requirements
- You're already making content. You have your own accounts or examples of videos you've personally created: this is the biggest signal for us.
- You understand queer culture. Not performatively, but because you live in it.
- You can film, edit, and create fast. You don't overpolish candidness. You iterate.
- You handle mental health topics with care and sensitivity: be careful of harmful framing and not trivialising issues.
- You're autonomous. You don't need a lot of hand-holding to get things out the door.
- 1+ years creating content, ideally in mental health, wellness, LGBTQIA+, or adjacent spaces.
Bonus points if you have…
- Basic design skills, newsletter experience, or familiarity with outreach/creator agreements.
- Experience running or contributing to creator/UGC partnerships.
- Comfortable being on camera yourself.
- Experience with paid social amplification, even small budgets.
- Thoughtful use of AI tools (CapCut, Descript, Captions etc.) to speed up your workflow.
✉️ Ready to Apply?
Send:
- A short cover note (a bit of personality welcome)
- Links to your own social accounts or content you've personally made.
- 1–2 examples of content that drove real engagement or growth (metrics help, but context matters more).
Selected applicants will be invited to a friendly initial chat, followed by a brief, paid trial project to ensure mutual fit.
We can’t wait to see what you build with us. 🌈✨
