Position Overview: The Senior Director of Commercial Operations (GTM/Revenue) will own and scale the commercial operations strategy to support revenue growth, working at the intersection of Sales, Revenue, and Strategy. This role is key to driving operational excellence across sales operations, pipeline management, CRM optimization, forecasting, compensation design, and more. This critical position will play a pivotal role in building out the commercial operations function, managing a team of 5-8 staff (including leadership roles), with the opportunity to define the future structure of the team. You will work closely with Sales and Executive Leadership to enable data-driven decisions and implement scalable processes to support aggressive growth goals. Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and lead the GTM and commercial operations strategy for a fast-growing SaaS organization
- Own and optimize all aspects of sales operations including pipeline management, forecasting, and performance tracking
- Design and implement scalable CRM strategies and tools to align with business needs
- Build and enhance reporting frameworks (pipeline, KPIs, revenue trends, etc.)
- Develop effective quota and commission structures that drive sales behavior
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, Finance, and Executive teams to align strategies and goals
- Evaluate and enhance the current commercial tech stack and process infrastructure
- Manage, mentor, and grow the Commercial Operations team
- Support acquisition-related integration activities, ensuring smooth operational alignment and systems consolidation
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Bachelor's degree required; MBA or advanced certifications strongly preferred
- 10-12+ years of relevant experience in Commercial/GTM Operations within a SaaS/subscription business (Note - SaaS industry focus is required for consideration)
- Proven track record of scaling commercial operations in a high-growth, PE-backed environment that is B2B focused.
- Deep knowledge of sales strategy, pipeline forecasting, performance metrics, CRM implementation (e.g., Salesforce), and process improvement
- Strong understanding of sales technology tools and how to align them with business strategy
- Experience in designing and managing sales compensation programs
- Demonstrated success managing teams and building functions from the ground up
- M&A integration experience a strong plus
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work cross-functionally and influence executive stakeholders
Location & Travel: Remote-first role with preference for candidates based in Chicago or the Southeastern U.S. Travel is minimal (quarterly or as needed for leadership meetings and team collaboration).
