Role Description The Tax Accountant is a full-time remote role responsible for managing tax preparation and compliance for a diverse client portfolio. Day-to-day tasks include preparing individual and business tax returns, reviewing supporting documentation, and ensuring adherence to relevant tax laws and regulations. The role involves analyzing financial statements, identifying tax planning opportunities, and advising clients on tax implications and compliance requirements. The Tax Accountant will collaborate with internal team members to streamline processes, leverage cloud-based tools, and contribute to continuous improvement in financial business automation. The position also includes responding to client queries, maintaining accurate records, and meeting lodgment deadlines.
Qualifications
- Strong tax-focused skills, including Tax, Tax Preparation, and Tax Compliance.
- Proficiency in Accounting and the preparation and analysis of Financial Statements.
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline; professional certification (e.g., Chartered Accountant or CPA) is highly regarded.
- Experience with cloud-based accounting and tax software, and an interest in financial process automation.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain tax concepts clearly to clients.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment, manage deadlines, and handle multiple client engagements.
- Prior experience in public practice or with diverse client types (such as SMEs, non-profits, or professional services firms) is an advantage.
