About the role

Content & Communications Coordinator

Location: Remote, UK-based, with occasional attendance at screenings and events.

Hours: Open to part-time or full-time, depending on the right candidate and agreed scope.

Salary: £30,000 per annum for full-time hours, pro rata for part-time.

About TRAUMALITY

TRAUMALITY began as an independent documentary exploring trauma and the experiences, relationships and environments that shape mental health. It is now expanding through international screenings, an educational platform, community and new film projects.

Our work puts context at the centre of mental health conversations, combining lived experience, professional insight and filmmaking to challenge assumptions and encourage understanding.

About the role

We’re looking for someone creative, organised and passionate about this space, with excellent copywriting skills, a strong eye for design and a good understanding of social media.

Working directly with founder and filmmaker Ton Mazzone, your main focus will be creating original content and managing our social channels. You’ll also support routine emails, screening enquiries and everyday administration.

We want someone who thinks outside the box, brings fresh ideas and can turn them into finished work.

You’ll work remotely, with occasional attendance at screenings and events to capture content and support event communications. Arrangements will be agreed in advance.

What you’ll do
  • Develop original ideas for videos, carousels, educational posts, graphics and campaigns.
  • Write compelling hooks, captions, scripts, newsletters and website content.
  • Research and create accessible psychoeducational content exploring trauma, nervous-system responses, relationships and the wider context of mental health.
  • Edit documentary footage, interviews and event recordings into engaging short videos, including accurate subtitles.
  • Create polished designs with thoughtful typography, layout and a consistent visual identity.
  • Plan, schedule and publish social content, engage with audiences and review performance.
  • Capture content at selected screenings and events.
  • Respond to routine emails and viewing enquiries, follow up with screening organisers and keep contacts and tasks organised.
  • Refer sensitive messages, partnership discussions and key decisions to Ton.

Content creation and social media will take priority. Responsibilities and expected output will reflect the agreed working hours.

What you’ll bring

  • Strong copywriting skills: the ability to communicate with clarity, personality and sensitivity.
  • A good eye for design: an understanding of typography, composition and visual consistency.
  • Content creation experience: practical skills in video editing and creating graphics, supported by examples of your work.
  • Social media knowledge: an understanding of different platforms, audiences and formats, and what makes content worth watching, reading or sharing.
  • Original thinking: fresh ideas and the ability to take them from concept to completion.
  • Organisation and initiative: confidence working independently, taking ownership and meeting deadlines.
  • A genuine passion for this space: an interest in trauma, mental health and the importance of understanding people’s experiences.
  • Care and discretion: sensitivity when handling personal stories and private communications.

Experience creating psychoeducational content is particularly desirable, as is a relevant background in psychology, counselling, psychotherapy, mental health or trauma-informed practice.

A degree or clinical qualification is not essential. We value a strong portfolio, relevant understanding and the ability to research carefully, check sources and communicate accurately.
