# Data Engineer BI (m/w/d)


## About the Role


CGM is seeking a Data Engineer BI (m/w/d) to transform complex data and business requirements into clear, valuable Business Intelligence insights. In this role, you will own the complete lifecycle of modern Power BI dashboards—from initial concept and prototyping through go-live—while ensuring solutions are intuitive, performant, scalable, and relevant for business decision-making.


You will work closely with business departments, stakeholders, backend teams, and the Microsoft Fabric team to gather requirements, define KPIs and use cases, develop semantic data models, and establish reliable BI solutions. The role also focuses on data quality, governance, security, and the analysis of marketing, sales, and market data to identify relationships and growth opportunities.


## Key Responsibilities


* Own the complete lifecycle of Power BI dashboards, from initial ideas and prototypes through go-live.

* Develop intuitive, performant, and decision-relevant Power BI solutions.

* Work closely with business departments to systematically gather and structure requirements.

* Refine business use cases and define relevant KPIs.

* Moderate workshops and advise stakeholders on prioritization and implementation.

* Design and maintain robust semantic data models, including Star Schema, KPI layers, dimensions, and facts.

* Collaborate closely with backend and Microsoft Fabric teams to develop scalable data models.

* Validate metrics and support data quality, governance, and security.

* Establish rollout and versioning concepts for BI solutions.

* Implement and maintain RLS/OLS, Sensitivity Labels, and clear documentation.

* Analyze marketing, sales, and market data to identify relationships and growth opportunities.

* Develop BI strategies and communicate insights clearly and effectively to different audiences, including management.

* Translate complex business requirements into sustainable and scalable BI solutions.


## Required Qualifications


* Completed Master's degree in Data Science, Business Informatics, Mathematics, Statistics, Business Analytics, or a comparable field.

* At least 4–5 years of experience developing Power BI frontend solutions in a B2B or enterprise environment.

* Excellent expertise in:


* Power BI

* DAX

* Power Query M

* Semantic data modeling

* Star Schema

* Dimensions and facts

* Strong practical experience in stakeholder management.

* Experience in consulting and requirements engineering.

* Ability to translate complex business requirements into scalable BI solutions.

* Structured, precise, and responsible approach to work.

* Ability to identify risks early and provide solution-oriented recommendations.

* Ability to work constructively with feedback and as part of a team.

* Fluent German.

* English proficiency at minimum C1 level.

* Strong willingness to learn and technology affinity, particularly in the Microsoft Fabric environment.
