# Data Scientist / Data Analyst
## About the Role
AlleraIT Solutions LLC is seeking a Data Scientist / Data Analyst to support a federal client’s compliance-review program. In this role, you will build, operate, and maintain a data-mining and analytics platform that processes large volumes of monthly transaction data, applies business rules and risk-scoring logic to identify high-risk records, and provides reporting dashboards for program leadership.
You will collaborate with the Program Manager, client IT and security teams, compliance reviewers, and auditors to support analytics operations and ensure the platform meets federal certification, accreditation, and security requirements.
## Key Responsibilities
* Develop and maintain ETL pipelines that ingest transaction and operational data from multiple source systems.
* Design, implement, and periodically refresh business rules and statistical/risk-scoring logic in coordination with the client.
* Support the federal Certification & Accreditation (C&A) process for the analytics platform.
* Ensure the analytics tool operates within the client’s approved security boundary.
* Build and maintain reporting dashboards for recurring activity reports and review-status tracking.
* Reconcile and normalize data from source systems with inconsistent schemas or formats.
* Identify and flag data anomalies for analyst review.
* Ensure data processing and storage occur exclusively within client-approved, client-hosted systems.
* Collaborate with compliance reviewers and auditors to translate program policies and audit criteria into automated business rules.
* Present findings and analytical results to non-technical stakeholders and program leadership.
## Required Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related quantitative field.
* 4–6 years of experience building data pipelines, statistical/ML models, or business-rule engines using large operational or financial datasets.
* Hands-on experience with Python, R, SQL, and data visualization or business intelligence platforms such as R-Shiny, Power BI, or Tableau.
* Experience working with large, multi-source datasets.
* Experience with data cleansing, harmonization, and quality validation.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to present findings to non-technical stakeholders and program leadership.
* U.S. citizenship.
* Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance at Level 5 (Moderate Risk), including a Minimum Background Investigation (MBI) or Limited Background Investigation (LBI).
## Preferred Qualifications
* Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related quantitative field.
* Prior experience supporting a federal government client or federal contractor.
* Experience with cloud-based large-scale data processing technologies such as Apache Spark or Databricks.
* Familiarity with federal information security frameworks, including FISMA and NIST SP 800-53.
* Experience with federal system Certification & Accreditation (C&A) processes.
* Experience developing risk-scoring or predictive models that have undergone independent, formal validation, or accreditation.
* Relevant technical certifications, including cloud platform or data engineering certifications.
