This is an identified position for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander applicants.About the National Indigenous Employment and Training Alliance (The Alliance)
The Alliance is a peak body by and for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, uniting the Indigenous employment and training sector. We are committed to supporting stronger outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander job seekers and learners, supporting the growth and impact of the employment and training sector.
As an early-stage, fast-evolving organisation, we need someone who is not only passionate about our mission but also adaptable and versatile to grow with us.
The Role:
This role helps to keep our team running smoothly – supporting day-to-day operations, coordinating internal processes, and making sure our systems, meetings, and projects stay on track. Reporting to the GM of Performance and Impact, this is a hands-on role for someone who’s tech-savvy, organised, and great at making things happen behind the scenes. Whether it’s managing system access, setting up a team training, troubleshooting a submission process, or following up on HR administration tasks, you’ll be the go-to person for keeping the wheels turning. You don’t need to be a specialist in everything – just proactive, organised, capable, and ready to pitch in across the board.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and maintain internal systems and processes across HR, membership, communications, and admin functions.
- Ensure data accuracy, access controls, and consistent use of operational tools and platforms.
- Assist with planning and logistics for internal meetings, training sessions, and team activities.
- Provide general admin support and help prepare reports to track progress and performance.
- Support onboarding, recruitment admin, and initiatives to strengthen team culture and engagement.
- Help manage project delivery logistics, monitor timelines, and coordinate stakeholder inputs.
- Develop and maintain user guides and support materials to improve internal system use.
- Liaise with external service providers and flag operational risks or delays to support decision-making.
What We’re Looking For:
- Passionate about improving employment and training outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
- Organised, reliable, and detail-oriented, with strong time management and task coordination skills.
- Practical problem-solver with a proactive mindset and a positive, solutions-focused attitude.
- Confident using and learning business systems (e.g. HR, finance, membership, Microsoft 365).
- Experienced in supporting operations, admin, or systems-related roles, with a track record of follow-through.
- Clear and respectful communicator who contributes to a collaborative, culturally safe team environment.
- Comfortable managing competing priorities and supporting internal processes to keep things running smoothly.
- Relevant qualifications in business administration or similar fields are desirable but not essential.
Why Join Us?
At The Alliance, you’ll be part of a mission-driven team working towards a future where Indigenous people achieve economic prosperity through employment and training. Join us at this exciting time, as we work together to close the gap and create lasting impact. We offer a flexible, collaborative environment where your ideas and contributions will shape the future of the organisation.
