Financial Accountant

About the Role

We are seeking a Junior/Mid Accountant and Financial Controller to support our CFO in a fast-growing AI technology company. You'll oversee daily accounting operations with external providers and assist with financial reporting, budgets, and compliance.

Full-timeRemote (Global candidates welcome - must work CET hours)Salary- €27,000 - €55,000

Note: Candidates should be able to work CET business hours with good overlap with our Malta-based external accounting team (8-5 CET). While we welcome global applications, candidates in significantly different time zones (e.g., US, Australia) may find collaboration challenging.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise daily accounting activities with external accounting services
• Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
• Manage VAT and tax compliance for international digital services
• Prepare for annual audits and coordinate with external auditors
• Implement financial controls and ensure regulatory compliance
• Handle complex bookkeeping and cryptocurrency transactions
• Utilize Xero accounting software for financial management

What We're Looking ForEssential:

• 3-8 years full-cycle accounting experience (AP, AR, reconciliation, month-end closings)
• Finance/accounting degree or professional certification (CPA, ACCA)
• European accounting standards knowledge (IFRS)
• Strong English proficiency and Excel skills
• Experience with financial statement preparation and audits
• Knowledge of European tax and VAT compliance
• Comfortable with digital entertainment industry

Preferred:

• Xero accounting software experience
• Remote startup experience
• Process-oriented with independent working ability
