Role: Senior Business Intelligence Analyst

Experience Level: 4+ years

Work Location: Remote (USA)

What you will do:

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data analysis, reporting, and business intelligence. As a Business Intelligence Analyst, you will be responsible for transforming complex data into meaningful insights and actionable recommendations. You will leverage tools like Tableau, Power BI, and SQL to support data-driven decision-making and improve business performance across the organization.

Responsibilities:Data Analysis and Interpretation:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business objectives and define data requirements.
  • Collect, clean, and transform data from multiple sources to ensure accuracy and integrity.
  • Perform exploratory data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and key business insights.
  • Develop and maintain datasets and data models that support business reporting needs.

Business Intelligence & Visualization:

  • Design and develop interactive dashboards and reports using BI tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
  • Create intuitive visualizations (KPIs, charts, scorecards) to communicate business performance effectively.
  • Ensure dashboards are optimized for performance, usability, and scalability.
  • Standardize reporting metrics and definitions across the organization.

Reporting and Insights:

  • Deliver recurring and ad hoc reports to stakeholders with clear insights and recommendations.
  • Translate complex analytical findings into simple, actionable business insights.
  • Support leadership with data-driven analysis for strategic planning and operational improvements.

Data Integration & Automation:

  • Work with structured and semi-structured data sources (e.g., databases, APIs, JSON).
  • Build and maintain ETL processes to automate data extraction, transformation, and loading.
  • Develop scripts or workflows to streamline data preparation and reporting.

Data Governance & Quality:

  • Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and reliability across reports and dashboards.
  • Implement validation checks and data quality monitoring processes.
  • Support data governance initiatives, including documentation and standardization of data definitions.

Stakeholder Collaboration:

  • Partner with business teams to identify reporting needs and opportunities for improvement.
  • Act as a bridge between technical teams and business users to ensure alignment.
  • Present insights to stakeholders in a clear and compelling manner.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Stay up to date with BI tools, data visualization best practices, and analytics trends.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance reporting capabilities and improve decision-making processes.

Basic Qualifications (BQ):

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Analytics, Data Analytics, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field.
  • 3–7 years of experience in Business Intelligence, Data Analysis, or Reporting roles.
  • Strong experience building dashboards and reports using Tableau, Power BI, or similar tools.
  • Proficiency in SQL for data extraction and manipulation.
  • Experience with data modeling concepts and relational databases.
  • Familiarity with Python or R for data analysis is a plus (not required).
  • Experience working with APIs and data integration is preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present data to non-technical stakeholders.

Required Skills:

  • Strong expertise in Tableau, Power BI, or similar BI tools.
  • Advanced SQL skills for querying and transforming data.
  • Data modeling and data warehousing knowledge (star schema, fact/dimension tables).
  • Ability to create clear, impactful visualizations and dashboards.
  • Strong business acumen and ability to translate data into insights.
  • Experience with Excel (advanced functions, pivot tables) is a plus.
  • Understanding of data governance and data quality practices.
  • Basic knowledge of scripting (Python/R) is desirable.
  • Strong attention to detail.
