Job Title: Head of Marketing (Unpaid, Volunteer)Location: Remote
Duration: 20 weeks (with potential extension or transition to a paid, official position + ESOP)
Reports to: Chief Marketing Officer (CMO)
Overview:
Paramount Students, a fast-growing global edtech platform, is seeking a dynamic and creative Head of Marketing to join our leadership team on a volunteer basis. As Head of Marketing, you will drive brand awareness, student acquisition, and engagement across multiple channels while building marketing strategies that fuel growth across our education sectors. This is a rare opportunity to shape the voice of a purpose-driven startup that's redefining global student mobility and enrollment systems.
Responsibilities:
Brand Strategy & Positioning:
- Develop and execute comprehensive brand strategies that establish Paramount Students as the leading global student marketplace
- Define brand voice, messaging frameworks, and visual identity standards across all touchpoints
- Position the platform competitively within the edtech and international education landscape
Student Acquisition & Growth Marketing:
- Lead multi-channel acquisition strategies targeting prospective students, parents, and educational counselors
- Oversee performance marketing, SEO/SEM, content marketing, and social media campaigns
- Build funnel optimization strategies to convert awareness into platform enrollment and applications
Content & Communications:
- Direct content strategy across blogs, video, email, and social platforms to engage global student audiences
- Manage communications with student communities, educational institutions, and partner networks
- Oversee creation of compelling case studies, testimonials, and success stories
Product Marketing:
- Develop go-to-market strategies for new platform features, CRM offerings, and service bundles
- Create messaging and collateral that drive adoption of Paramount Students' tools among universities and high schools
- Collaborate with product teams to translate features into student and institutional benefits
Community & Engagement:
- Build and nurture online student communities, ambassador programs, and peer-to-peer networks
- Design engagement campaigns that increase platform retention and lifetime value
- Cultivate relationships with student influencers, education bloggers, and youth media outlets
Market Expansion Support:
- Support geographic expansion efforts in Southeast Asia, MENA, and North America with localized marketing strategies
- Adapt campaigns for cultural relevance across diverse student populations
- Identify partnership opportunities with student organizations, scholarship bodies, and youth platforms
Analytics & Performance:
- Define marketing KPIs, attribution models, and reporting frameworks
- Analyze campaign performance and optimize spend across channels
- Provide regular insights on student behavior, market trends, and competitive positioning
Team Leadership:
- Build and mentor a distributed marketing team across content, design, performance, and community functions
- Collaborate with the CMO on resource planning, agency relationships, and budget allocation
Qualifications:
- Experience: 5+ years in marketing leadership roles, preferably within edtech, SaaS, or youth-focused digital platforms
- Growth Expertise: Proven track record scaling user acquisition and engagement in fast-growth environments
- Brand Building: Experience crafting compelling narratives and building recognizable brands from early stage
- Digital Native: Deep expertise across performance marketing, social platforms, content strategy, and marketing automation
- Data-Driven: Strong analytical skills with experience in marketing analytics, A/B testing, and attribution modeling
- Global Perspective: Understanding of international student markets and ability to adapt messaging across cultures
- Leadership: Exceptional team-building, mentoring, and cross-functional collaboration skills
- Creativity: Bold, innovative thinker who can generate breakthrough campaigns on limited budgets
- Mission-Aligned: Passion for education access, student success, and transformative technology
Compensation:
This position is unpaid at this stage. However, it includes the opportunity to receive equity through Paramount Students' ESOP and to transition into a paid leadership role upon successful fundraising.
