About the role

Remote-Based | Boston/New England Preferred | $160K–$180K Base + 20–25% Bonus

This is a high-impact finance leadership opportunity with a growing, acquisitive restaurant investment and operating platform. We're looking for someone who enjoys a broad scope of responsibilities across external audits, accounting oversight, FP&A, and finance operations, with direct visibility to ownership and senior leadership. You'll have the opportunity to take ownership of a wide range of finance responsibilities while leading two excellent, high-performing FP&A professionals who are already strong in their day-to-day responsibilities. The emphasis is on leadership, mentorship, and professional development rather than managing their daily workload.

The position is remote-based, with periodic in-person collaboration around Boston. Compensation includes a competitive base salary and 20–25% annual performance bonus, with total target compensation reaching approximately $225K.

What this role will own:

  • Lead multiple annual financial statement audits across operating entities, managing external auditor relationships, audit preparation, and coordination of supporting resources
  • Provide accounting and financial reporting oversight across the portfolio, working with internal and external accounting resources to ensure accuracy, consistency, and accountability
  • Lead and mentor two high-performing FP&A analysts, providing guidance, professional development, and support as they continue advancing their careers
  • Oversee budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and management reporting, while partnering with leadership on business performance and financial decisions
  • Work directly with senior leadership and restaurant operators on a broad range of finance, accounting, and operational matters, including support for acquisitions and new business integrations
  • Help improve financial processes, audit readiness, and reporting infrastructure as the organization continues to grow
  • Take ownership of special projects and ad hoc business needs beyond traditional accounting and finance responsibilities

Ideal background:

  • 8+ years of progressive experience across accounting, audit, controllership, or finance leadership
  • Strong accounting foundation, particularly experience managing external audits and working with auditors across multiple entities
  • Experience working across multiple businesses or within operationally complex, transaction-heavy environments
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, with an interest in coaching, mentoring, and developing talented finance professionals
  • CPA or public accounting background preferred, but not required
  • Exposure to FP&A, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis is beneficial, although accounting experience is the greater priority
  • Restaurant, hospitality, franchise, or multi-unit experience is a plus, but not required
  • Based in Boston or the broader New England region, with flexibility to attend in-person meetings around Boston more frequently during onboarding and approximately 1–2 times monthly thereafter

This is an excellent opportunity for a finance and accounting leader who wants more variety, meaningful ownership, excellent direct reports, and direct exposure to senior leadership within a growing business. Ideal for someone who enjoys working across different areas of finance rather than being limited to one specialized function.
