Job Title: Senior Project Manager – Solar & BESS (Execution)

Location: Remote (East Coast or Central U.S. preferred)

Client overview:

Independent power producer (IPP) focused on the development and execution of utility-scale battery energy storage systems (BESS) across North America. With an expanding pipeline across ERCOT, SPP, PJM, and NYISO markets, they are now seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead the execution of BESS projects from NTP through COD.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee project execution of utility-scale BESS assets across multiple U.S. markets, managing timelines, budgets, contractors, and stakeholders from NTP through COD.
• Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) teams to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.
• Manage project schedules, risk tracking, and milestone reporting across a portfolio of active projects.
• Collaborate with internal teams (engineering, legal, finance, development) to align execution strategy with project agreements and investor expectations.
• Drive contractor performance and resolve issues arising during construction, commissioning, and closeout phases.
• Support operational handover and ensure quality control and compliance throughout project lifecycle.

Qualifications & Experience:

• 5+ years of experience in project execution for utility-scale renewable energy projects, with a strong emphasis on battery storage (BESS).
• Proven track record delivering BESS or hybrid renewable assets from NTP to COD.
• Strong working knowledge of project controls, contractor management, and site execution strategies.
• Familiarity with regional market standards across ERCOT, SPP, PJM, and/or NYISO.
• Ability to manage multiple projects in parallel with strong attention to detail and accountability.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills in a cross-functional, fast-paced environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.

Additional details:

• Remote role with preference for candidates based in the Eastern or Central U.S. (due to travel logistics)
