As a Strategic Business Development Representative, you will play a key role in driving growth by identifying, qualifying, and nurturing high-potential leads in the cybersecurity space. You will collaborate closely with the sales team to create opportunities that align with client needs while contributing to the broader strategy for your region. This role requires a proactive, self-motivated individual who thrives in fast-paced, high-growth environments and enjoys building relationships with prospects. You will leverage research, CRM tools, and industry insights to uncover opportunities and set meetings that accelerate revenue generation. Strong communication skills, analytical thinking, and curiosity are essential. By helping streamline the sales pipeline, your contributions will directly impact business growth and customer success. Accountabilities In this role, you will:
- Prospect and identify potential clients using methods including cold calling, emailing, social media, and attending industry events
- Conduct research to understand prospects' cybersecurity needs, pain points, and decision-making structure
- Generate a consistent pipeline of high-quality leads, meeting or exceeding weekly and monthly targets
- Qualify leads by aligning business requirements with technical solutions and services
- Schedule product demos and meetings for the sales team with qualified prospects
- Collaborate with the sales team to develop targeted strategies for industries, regions, or key clients
- Maintain accurate records of leads, prospects, and interactions in the CRM system
- Provide feedback to marketing and product teams to refine messaging and improve offerings
- Stay informed on industry trends, competitor offerings, and emerging technologies
Requirements To succeed in this role, you should have:
- Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field
- 1-3 years of experience in sales, business development, or lead generation, preferably in cybersecurity, cloud-native, or DevOps industries
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with prospects and clients
- Proficiency with CRM systems, ideally HubSpot or Salesforce, and other sales enablement tools
- Excellent research, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and comfortable working independently in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrated ability to meet or exceed sales targets and KPIs
- Familiarity with cybersecurity concepts, products, and services is a plus
- Ideally located in the Central time zone
