About the role

Executive Assistant to the CEO

Full-time · UK · Fully remote · £40,000–£50,000

Why we need you

JH is an ecommerce agency that helps ambitious retailers get to number one or stay there. Behind that work sits a team who deserve a business that runs beautifully around them.

That is where you come in. At an agency, Executive Assistant means all-encompassing. You look after our CEO, keep the whole operation moving, become the person everyone turns to, and see more of JH than anyone else. It is the best seat in the business for learning how a business really works.

Our CEO once said there is no point in making the money we do unless we get to create some memories. That belief sits at the heart of this role. You give our CEO more of his time back, and you make sure our team are looked after in their own lives too.

This role is great for someone who

  • Brings a sense of humour and kindness to every conversation.
  • Wants to learn about a lot of things and dive into all of them.
  • Has been told they are a spreadsheet nerd.
  • Is highly organised, spots something misorganised and wants to fix it straight away.
  • Reminds a team how great they truly are whenever they have a moment of doubt.
  • Wants to make an impact on everybody they meet.
  • Believes the point of success is the memories it lets you create.
  • Loves a week where every day looks different.

What you'll do

  • Be our CEO's right hand: diary, inbox, travel, projects and keeping everything moving.
  • Keep the business beautifully organised: contracts, the handbook, onboarding (including the systems behind it) and suppliers.
  • Look after our people: be the friendly first port of call, celebrate wins, send the surprises and organise the things the team looks forward to.
  • Turn occasions into memories: every birthday, milestone and win gets marked, and the big ones get turned up to 11.
  • Keep the rhythm: quarterly conversations, 1:1s, pay reviews, working groups and the numbers that show how we are doing.
  • Spot what could be better, then make it better.

What success looks like

Within three to six months:

  • Communication across JH continues to be excellent, and information flows around the business because you nudge people at the right moment.
  • Everybody has their quarterly conversation, their 1:1s and their pay review on time, with each person leading their own.
  • The details are right first time, every time.
  • Our CEO has more of his time back and uses it on the people and moments that matter to him.
  • Every occasion gets marked, and the team feel looked after in their own lives.
  • People know who to go to, and they leave the conversation feeling looked after.
  • You have owned at least two projects from beginning to end and rolled them out across JH.
  • You can point to something at JH that works better because of you.

The skills and mindset we value

  • Personality. A sense of humour, a kind heart and the warmth that makes people glad to hear from you.
  • High attention to detail. The right name, date and figure, every time.
  • Organised by instinct. You build the system because that is how you are wired.
  • Curious and quick to learn. You enjoy being new at things.
  • Calm and brilliant with people at every level.
  • A memory-maker's heart. You care deeply about giving our CEO his time back and about the people around us enjoying their lives, and you make sure every occasion gets marked.
  • A love of surprises. You enjoy sending something unexpected to a teammate and organising things for the team to enjoy.
  • Taste and thoughtfulness. Give you a birthday card to sort and you'll go well beyond a gift-site order into something people keep.
  • Technical curiosity. You enjoy working with backend systems, such as setting up onboarding, and picking up new tools.
  • A head start with AI is a big advantage, and we will teach you the rest.
  • Discreet and trustworthy, with a diary, an inbox and a lot of conversations in your hands.
  • Initiative. You see it, you own it, you finish it.

Experience as an EA, PA, office manager or coordinator helps. Attitude and judgement matter more.

What's in it for you

  • A seat at the centre of the business, working directly with the CEO.
  • The chance to learn every part of an agency: delivery, sales, people, finance and leadership.
  • Fully remote, with flexible working built around your life.
  • Flexitime, weekly team sessions and regular socials.
  • Investment in your training and certifications: anything you want to formally pick up or carry on, such as HR or Mental Health First Aid.
  • Real autonomy, plus the tools (AI included) to do the job brilliantly.
  • Purpose-led work in a business that cares about doing things well.
