The Opportunity
IoTAA has been engaged by the Department of Home Affairs to co-design and implement an internationally aligned, industry-led voluntary security labelling scheme for consumer-grade smart devices.
We’re looking for a dynamic Project Manager to support the Program Director in driving this complex, multi-stakeholder initiative from planning through to public launch.
Key Outcomes
Key deliverables include:
- A robust governance and business model for the scheme
- An operational model for label issuance and maintenance
- Effective label design
- National consumer consultation and awareness activities
- Training for developers, manufacturers and distributors
- A successful public launch
About the Role
Reporting to the Program Director, you’ll help ensure the Labelling Scheme for Smart Devices is well-managed, well-governed, delivered on time, on budget and within scope.
You’ll coordinate five core work packages:
- WP0: Project Management – deliver smooth operations and governance
- WP1: Scheme Governance & Business Model – co-design a viable, open framework
- WP2: Scheme Design & Operation – develop operational processes for labelling
- WP3: Label Design – deliver an effective physical and digital trust mark
- WP4: Consumer Consultation & Supplier Training – boost consumer awareness and provide industry training
Your Key Responsibilities
- With the Program Director, design a work plan for each team member depending upon project requirement and member expertise
- Provide project updates to stakeholders as per demand and requirement
- Perform regular assessment of project execution to identify areas for improvement
- Track project performance periodically to ensure both short-term and long-term goals are met
- Create and maintain detailed project documentation
- Undertake risk management to minimise potential risks
- Ensure project delivery is on time, as per scope and within the allocated budget
- Manage internal coordination and external stakeholders; to ensure smooth project execution
Selection Criteria
- Appropriate tertiary or project management qualifications and/or 7+ years’ project management experience with solid knowledge of project management frameworks and best practice.
- Proven ability to build and maintain strong and effective networks and relationships across a diverse range of stakeholders.
- Excellent oral and written business communication skills and outstanding interpersonal skills.
- The ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary and diverse teams.
- Dynamic with exceptional time management skills and able to apply quick, independent judgment and problem-solving when necessary.
- Proven experience in using project management tools such as Asana, Monday, Trello, Kanban boards, etc. and good working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
- Ability to travel interstate to attend meetings and events.

Desirable
- PMP certification
- Experience in the technology sector, especially digital security
- Interest in technology, Internet of Things (IoT) and IoT for good

Remuneration
You will be paid $110,000 per year plus superannuation, paid fortnightly.
