Position Overview
IEMA seeks a proactive and highly organised professional to serve as an Event Co-ordinator (UK). This voluntary (unpaid position), remote role supports the planning and delivery of high-impact virtual events that advance global education, strengthen policy dialogue, and elevate research and innovation strategies across the sector.
This role is designed for someone who can contribute consistently with a light but high-leverage time commitment, helping IEMA convene the right voices to shape education outcomes for millions of learners worldwide.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the end-to-end co-ordination of virtual events, including scheduling, speaker logistics, agendas, and run-of-show planning.
- Liaise with speakers, partners, and internal stakeholders to confirm attendance, briefing notes, and event requirements.
- Co-ordinate event operations on the day, including platform management, timekeeping, Q&A flow, and post-event follow-up.
- Maintain simple event trackers and documentation (timelines, guest lists, speaker packs, and feedback notes).
- Contribute to continuous improvement by capturing learning, insights, and recommendations after each event.
Candidate Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in event co-ordination, programme support, stakeholder engagement, or administrative/project support roles.
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail, timelines, and professional communication.
- Comfortable using remote collaboration and event tools (Zoom/Teams, Google Workspace, spreadsheets, calendars).
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision and a strong sense of accountability.
- Demonstrated interest in education, policy dialogue, research, and innovation initiatives.
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicants must be based in the UK and legally authorized to volunteer in the UK.
- Visa sponsorship is not available for this role.
