Finance Manager

We are looking for a Finance Manager to oversee and support our day-to-day finance and administrative operations.

This role is suited for a hands-on professional with strong financial acumen, organizational skills, and the ability to operate in a fast-paced, international environment. You’ll manage payments, treasury operations, financial tracking, and coordinate with external accountants, while also supporting HR and compliance-related tasks. Although this is a remote-first role, candidates must reside in Portugal.Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee and process payments to suppliers, service providers, and employees.
• Monitor daily cash balances and lead treasury planning and control efforts.
• Perform regular and accurate reconciliations of bank accounts and digital payment platforms.
• Maintain and continuously improve internal tracking systems for payments, invoices, and cash flow.
• Coordinate with external accounting and payroll providers to ensure timely and accurate submissions.
• Support HR-related tasks including onboarding, leave tracking, and personnel documentation.
• Assist in preparing documentation for audits and financial reporting.
• Handle administrative support related to finance, contracts, and compliance.
• Identify and implement process improvements to increase operational efficiency.

Requirements:

• Minimum 4-5 years of experience in finance, accounting, or administrative roles.
• Solid understanding of payment processing, reconciliations, and financial controls.
• Proficiency in Excel, Google Sheets, and accounting platforms (e.g., QuickBooks).
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple responsibilities independently.
• Fluency in English (spoken and written).
• Degree in Finance, Accounting, Administration, or a related field.
• Residence in Portugal .
• Experience in a startup or fast-scaling environment is highly valued.
• Nice to have: Experience with blockchain and European funding program.
