The Early Learning and Care Council of Australia is a peak body representing large early learning and care providers.

Our 17 CEO members include some of the largest providers in the country, representing both not-for-profit and for-profit services.

ELACCA members operate 2,019 long day care services, 298 preschool/kindergarten services and 70 OSHC services, covering every state and territory. They offer one-quarter of all the long day care places in Australia. Together, our members serve over 356,000 children and their families, and employ more than 57,300 staff.

Position overview

We are seeking a high-performing policy and advocacy professional for this key national peak body in the early childhood education and care sector. Reporting directly to the CEO, the Senior Policy Manager will advise on strategic policy issues, represent ELACCA on key government and sector advisory groups, and prepare submissions and policy reports.

Key relationships

·       Internal: Reports to the Chief Executive Officer, ELACCA members, and the ELACCA team.

·       External: Officials of government agencies, the offices of Ministers and Shadow Ministers, other peak bodies, academics and partners of ELACCA.
