Role Overview
Cartesian is seeking a Senior Technical Business Process Analyst to support a Tier 1 Telecommunications Service Provider in their digital transformation of BSS/OSS platforms. This role is critical in developing comprehensive business and technical process documentation that supports the modernization of core business processes.
The successful candidate will be responsible for documenting business processes and system architecture by analyzing various deliverables to produce both functional and technical process flows. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in business analysis, a solid understanding of enterprise system architecture, and excellent consulting skills. Familiarity with SOX or operational controls is also essential, particularly in the context of risk mitigation.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze business and technical documents (e.g., Business Requirements, Functional Requirements, Application Context Diagrams, technical documents) to create comprehensive business and technical processes.
- Collaborate with technical and business stakeholders to collect, clarify, validate, and refine both business and technical processes.
- Evaluate financial/operational controls to confirm completeness and accuracy as well as document and collaborate with stakeholders to mitigate risks associated with any control deficiencies.
- Create Application Context Diagrams (ACD)/System Interface Diagrams and Business Process Diagrams.
- Facilitate stakeholder reviews and obtain sign-off on process documentation.
Required Qualifications
- Solid business analysis skills with a strong analytical mindset and attention to detail
- Strong communication skills (written, verbal, presentation, active listening)
- Excellent client interfacing skills, including responsiveness, adaptability, and follow-through
- Strong consulting mindset with the ability to think strategically, communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, and adapt quickly in dynamic client environments
- Demonstrated ability to independently overcome project obstacles thought creativity, problem solving, and self-motivation
- Experience with large enterprise system architecture
- Proficient in creating both business and technical process models (e.g. ACDs, data flow diagrams) based on analyzing documentations (e.g. business requirements, systems requirements, architecture diagrams, etc.)
- Experience with tools such as Vision. Lucidchart, Bizzdesign
- Ability to collaborate effectively with team members and provide clear direction to small teams
- Familiarity with Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX) and/or operational controls
- Technical background in such areas as software development, system architecture, data analysis, or quality assurance
Preferred Qualifications
- Telecommunication industry experience
- Basic understanding of finance and/or accounting principles
- Understanding of the Agile methodology
