Business Development Manager – Energy Storage Solutions (Netherlands, Remote)

We are partnering with a fast-growing, innovative energy solutions company specializing in advanced energy storage and management systems. Our client has headquarters in the Netherlands and offices in the UK and China, and they are expanding their market presence in the Netherlands.

The Role

Our client is seeking a Business Development Manager to join their team remotely from anywhere in the Netherlands. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will play a key role in driving growth and expanding the company’s market presence in the energy storage sector.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a detailed business development plan for energy storage solutions to achieve and exceed company goals.
  • Identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities, including partnerships, collaborations, and client leads. Build and maintain a robust pipeline of potential projects.
  • Engage with potential clients to understand their energy storage needs and deliver tailored solutions. Foster long-term relationships to secure contracts and repeat business.
  • Collaborate closely with technical, engineering, and project teams to prepare comprehensive, competitive proposals and tenders for energy storage projects. Ensure proposals meet client requirements and industry standards.
  • Negotiate contracts, agreements, and commercial terms with clients, partners, and suppliers. Ensure compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and financial limits.
  • Work with cross-functional teams including sales, marketing, engineering, and project management to align business development efforts and support successful project execution.
  • Conduct thorough market research to monitor industry trends, emerging technologies, competitors, and regulatory developments. Identify new sectors, markets, or segments for potential expansion.
  • Attend industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities (virtually or in-person) to strengthen relationships and represent the company professionally.
  • Maintain the CRM system with up-to-date records and provide regular reports to senior management, highlighting achievements, challenges, and opportunities.

Candidate Profile:

  • Must be based in the Netherlands (remote working only within the country).
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, renewable energy, or a related field.
  • 5+ years’ experience in business development, sales, or similar roles, ideally within renewable energy, energy storage, or related technology sectors.
  • Strong knowledge of energy storage technologies, market dynamics, and industry trends.
  • Demonstrated track record of achieving or exceeding sales and growth targets.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in CRM software and sales analytics tools.
  • Financial acumen to understand margins, pricing, and commercial agreements.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Awareness of relevant industry regulations and policies.
