About The Role We are seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer with expertise in Scala and related technologies to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be instrumental in developing and maintaining FOX's proprietary solutions aimed at automating user acquisition efforts at scale. You will be responsible for writing high-performance Scala code, transforming data into actionable insights using SQL, and deploying software components within our Kubernetes-based infrastructure. Your contributions will directly impact the efficiency and effectiveness of FOX’s marketing campaigns by enhancing our data-driven decision-making capabilities. Telecommuting from any location in the U.S. is permitted, providing flexibility and work-life balance. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of five (5) years of progressive software development experience, including building reliable production backend applications.
• Proficiency in Scala and Java Virtual Machine (JVM) ecosystem.
• Experience with web-based applications utilizing HTTP or gRPC protocols.
• Strong understanding of concurrency, reactive systems, and mobile ecosystems.
• Knowledge of SQL and noSQL databases.
• Experience working in Ad tech, mar-tech, or growth tech domains.
• Familiarity with Akka, Kubernetes, Linux, and Spark technologies.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Experience with software architecture evaluation and improvement.
• Willingness to participate in on-call rotations and handle platform outages.

Responsibilities

• Develop high-performance Scala code to support FOX's proprietary user acquisition automation solutions.
• Surface data and metrics from internal systems to facilitate campaign optimization.
• Write SQL queries to transform raw data into meaningful insights for decision-making.
• Deploy and manage software components within FOX's Kubernetes-based infrastructure.
• Participate in on-call rotations to ensure platform stability and handle outages effectively.
• Contribute to the ongoing evolution of software architecture to improve scalability and reliability.
• Evaluate and recommend tools and frameworks within the Scala ecosystem to enhance system performance.
• Engage in code reviews and architecture discussions to maintain high-quality standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including data scientists, product managers, and marketing teams.
