Role Description: This is a full-time role for a business development manager at SUMEC, who will identify and qualify new business opportunities, build and maintain relationships with clients, and promote steel products and services across Australia. Daily responsibilities include managing inbound and outbound sales inquiries, preparing quotations and proposals, and supporting contract negotiations in coordination with internal stakeholders. The role involves closely tracking market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs, while maintaining accurate records in CRM or related systems. The applicants will also collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth order processing, after-sales follow-up, and continuous improvement in customer satisfaction.
Qualifications
- Strong Communication skills, including clear verbal and written interaction with clients and internal teams.
- Proven Customer Service capabilities, with a focus on responsiveness, relationship-building, and issue resolution.
- Demonstrated Sales experience, including lead generation, pipeline management, and closing deals.
- Familiarity with Insurance or related financial products is beneficial, especially for structuring deals and managing risk.
- Experience in Training or mentoring peers or clients on products, services, or processes is an advantage.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, International Trade, Marketing, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Comfort working in a remote, cross-cultural environment with global stakeholders; proficiency in English required, additional languages a plus.
- Basic understanding of international trade practices, contracts, and logistics is preferred.
