Overview
A high‑growth, private equity‑backed SaaS and data consultancy is seeking a Head of FP&A to build and lead a best‑in‑class financial planning and analysis function.
This is a newly created role, introduced to support the next phase of growth following PE investment and ongoing M&A activity. Reporting directly to the CFO, the role will play a central part in shaping financial insight, strengthening management information, and supporting strategic decision‑making across the business.
The Head of FP&A will act as a true commercial partner to the senior leadership team, with regular exposure to the CEO, board, and private equity stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Planning & Analysis
- Lead the annual budgeting, forecasting, and reforecasting cycles
- Own performance tracking against financial and operational KPIs, with a strong SaaS focus
- Develop forward‑looking MI and analytics to support insight‑led decision‑making
Business Partnering
- Partner closely with senior commercial and operational leaders
- Build a deep understanding of revenue drivers and cost dynamics
- Provide insight, challenge, and support to improve business performance
Reporting & Board Support
- Support the preparation of board packs, including analysis and commentary
- Deliver high‑quality reporting for PE and investor stakeholders
- Maintain and develop the three‑statement financial model (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow)
M&A & Integration
- Support the financial integration of acquired businesses
- Track post‑acquisition performance and KPI alignment
- Prior M&A exposure is advantageous but not essential
Leadership & Development
- Influence and potentially lead FP&A and finance business partnering activity as the function evolves
- Work closely with the CFO and Head of Finance on strategic and value‑creation initiatives
Candidate Profile
Background & Experience
- ACA qualified, ideally trained within a Top 10 firm
- Background in Audit, Transaction Services, or Corporate Finance
- Experience transitioning into industry early in career to learn best‑practice financial operations
- Proven experience in a PE‑backed business and/or high‑growth SME environment
- Strong FP&A experience, ideally with ownership of planning processes
- Exposure to M&A and integrations is a plus
Skills & Attributes
- Highly analytical with strong Excel and financial modelling skills
- Strong PowerPoint and presenting skills
- Confident partnering with senior stakeholders and influencing decision‑makers
- Experience improving management information and KPI reporting
- Bright, driven, commercially minded, and comfortable in a fast‑paced environment
