Responsibilities:
- Plan, route & book freight for import/export – specifically USG impelled cargo.
- Ensure compliance with government regulations, contracts, tenders, and tariffs
- Collaborate with overseas agents, international freight forwarders, steamship lines, customs brokers, and port agents based on need and situation.
- Assist with the processing of all documentation
- Track and pull schedules for shipments
- Select NVOCC’s, port agents, and customs brokers
- Export clearance of POV’s (Personally Owned Vehicles) from the United States (working directly with US Customs & Border)
- Assistance with rate filings
- Assist with quoting OTO’s (One-Time-Only) rates
- Assisting management with various projects as needed
Requirements:
- English language proficiency is a must
- GSA experience
- Bachelor’s degree is preferred
- Specific industry experience or prior Transportation or Logistics experience preferred
- High level of interpersonal communication skills, oral and written
- Willingness to work US business hours, depending on the time zone allocated
- MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and general internet research skills
- Detail oriented, accurate, and possessing analytical capabilities
- Strong organizational and time management skills, ability to multi-task and meet daily/weekly/monthly goals
- Ability to work independently/remotely with a sense of urgency
- Positive attitude and good team player
