Role Description This is a full-time remote role for a Senior Electrical Design Engineer for HV/Traction/LV subjects. The role involves developing detailed electrical designs and specifications for rail infrastructure projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and client requirements. The Senior Electrical Design Engineer will review and validate design calculations, power distribution layouts, and protection schemes, as well as prepare technical reports, drawings, and documentation. Day-to-day tasks include collaborating with multidisciplinary engineering teams, supporting design reviews, providing technical guidance to junior engineers, and resolving design-related issues during project delivery. The role also requires engaging with clients to clarify requirements, proposing design improvements, and contributing to continuous enhancement of internal design processes and standards.
Qualifications
- Strong skills in Electrical Design and Design Engineering, with experience delivering complex rail or infrastructure projects.
- Solid foundation in Electrical Engineering and Electricity principles, including standards, codes, and safety regulations.
- Hands-on experience with Power Distribution systems, including load analysis, protection coordination, and system reliability.
- Proficiency in relevant design and drafting software (e.g., CAD tools, electrical design packages) and familiarity with BIM workflows is beneficial.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret technical specifications, develop clear documentation, and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Proven experience in remote collaboration, time management, and working independently while meeting deadlines and quality targets.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or a closely related discipline; professional certification or chartership is an advantage.
- Previous experience in rail industry projects or other transportation infrastructure is highly desirable.
