Tech Lead

We’re supporting a fast-growing digital commerce firm that specialises in acquiring and scaling high-performing e-commerce brands globally. Backed by strong capital and a sharp acquisition strategy, the business is entering an exciting phase of growth and is now looking to bring in a Tech Lead to establish and evolve its engineering capability.

This is a rare opportunity to step into a foundational role, where you’ll have real ownership and the mandate to build, shape, and scale a modern tech function from the ground up.

About the Role

As the Tech Lead, you’ll initially operate as a hands-on individual contributor, working closely with a highly collaborative, fast-moving team across product, growth, and operations. The environment is dynamic and ideas-driven, where experimentation is encouraged and good ideas move quickly.

Over time, you’ll take the lead in building out a team, defining ways of working, and creating a high-performing engineering culture. This is a tech-agnostic environment, so your ability to make pragmatic decisions and adapt to evolving business needs will be key.

Key Responsibilities

• Own and drive the technical strategy across multiple e-commerce platforms
• Design, build, and optimise scalable systems that support rapid growth
• Partner closely with stakeholders to turn ideas into practical, high-impact solutions
• Establish engineering best practices, processes, and architecture standards
• Identify opportunities for automation, performance improvements, and innovation
• Play a key role in hiring and mentoring as the team expands

About You

• Proven experience in a Tech Lead or Senior Engineering role
• Background in digital, e-commerce, or retail environments
• Strong hands-on capability with modern technologies
• Experience with TypeScript, Golang, and JavaScript (or similar)
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment
• Someone who enjoys solving problems, sharing ideas, and getting stuck in
• A natural collaborator who can bring others on the journey
