The Role

Reporting to the Head of Global Procurement, this role is responsible for managing and developing relationships with existing suppliers, ensuring robust commercial terms, and strengthening supply chain continuity. The successful candidate will also provide cross-functional support to the procurement team across a range of operational areas and strategic projects, contributing to cost efficiency, risk mitigation, and overall supply performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and qualify new suppliers, assessing their capabilities, performance history, and alignment with new product launches.
  • Negotiate and manage supplier contracts, ensuring favourable terms, competitive pricing, and adherence to quality standards.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers while fostering collaboration.
  • Assess contract coverage across the critical ingredients regularly to ensure adequate coverage in the medium to long term.
  • Support supplier performance management through KPIs, SLAs, reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Analyse supply chain data to identify areas for improvement, potential bottlenecks, and opportunities for cost reduction.
  • Compile and maintain project procurement files, including contracts, correspondence, variations and schedules.
  • Liase with Quality, R&D, Planning and Finance on supplier/procurement-related topics.
  • Submitting purchase details (suppliers' information, terms and pricing) to internal databases.
  • Develop and maintain sourcing dashboards and supplier scorecards covering savings, lead times, and performance.
  • Develop and maintain mid-to-long-term supply plans aligned with demand forecasts, production capacity, and inventory targets.

Qualification and experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Procurement, Finance, or a related discipline
  • 3–5+ years’ experience in sourcing, procurement, or supply chain roles, ideally within the infant formula or wider nutritional category
  • Strong working knowledge of purchasing and inventory control processes and best practices
  • Proven experience in strategic sourcing, vendor management, and contract negotiation
  • Demonstrated ability to build credible and effective relationships with senior stakeholders
  • Highly analytical with excellent attention to detail
  • Strong problem-solving capability with the ability to assess data and make commercially sound decisions
  • Knowledge of the infant formula and dairy industry would be a distinct advantage
