About the role

Enterprise Business Development Lead - ANZ

OTE $300k + Super + Private Healthcare

Remote first opportunity

Build the revenue engine for a growing B2B payments business!

The opportunity is to take a proven business payments proposition and turn it into a repeatable growth story across Australia and New Zealand.

The foundations are there: enterprise customers, established relationships across the payments ecosystem, and a platform built to solve real working-capital and payment challenges.

The next step is to convert that foundation into consistent revenue and build the team and channels to scale it.

This is a senior, hands-on commercial role with direct access to the CEO. You’ll own the regional number, lead the biggest opportunities yourself, and build the business development team that carries the next stage of growth.

The Business

Our client is an established B2B payments technology business helping companies make and manage business payments more efficiently.

Its platform enables businesses to pay suppliers and other business obligations using commercial card facilities, while funds are delivered to the recipient’s bank account. It also supports customer collections, payment automation, reconciliation and software integrations.

The result: businesses get more control over payment workflows, clearer cash-flow visibility and greater flexibility in managing working capital.

The business works with companies ranging from growing SMEs to large corporate groups, alongside partners across the payments and financial technology ecosystem.

The role

As the Business Development Lead for ANZ, you’ll have end-to-end commercial ownership of the market.

You’ll carry the regional targets for payment volume and net revenue, own the forecast, and be accountable for turning opportunities into signed business. You’ll personally lead the largest enterprise deals while building a team and partner channel that can deliver growth at scale.

This is a player-coach role. In the first six months, expect to be close to the deals and directly involved in closing them. Over time, your impact should increasingly come through the team, partnerships and sales rhythm you establish.

You’ll report directly to the CEO and have meaningful influence over how the business grows in the region.

What you’ll own

  • The number: Deliver the Australia and New Zealand payment volume and revenue targets. Own the forecast and communicate it clearly and consistently.
  • Major enterprise deals: Lead complex sales with large businesses, engaging senior finance, treasury and procurement stakeholders. Build a compelling case around working capital, payment control and operational efficiency.
  • The team: Hire, coach and lead the business development team. Set clear expectations, build strong sales habits and maintain a high standard of pipeline and forecast discipline.
  • Partnership growth: Turn relationships across card networks, banks, payment providers and business software platforms into a consistent source of qualified opportunities.
  • Commercial outcomes: Structure pricing and deal terms that win the right business while protecting the economics of each deal.
  • Market strategy: Sharpen the commercial story as customer needs, payment practices and market conditions change.

What you’ll bring

You’re an experienced B2B payments or enterprise fintech leader who has carried a meaningful number and knows how to win complex deals.

You’ll likely bring:

  • A wealth of experience across B2B payments, commercial cards, transaction banking or enterprise fintech.
  • A strong record of delivering enterprise revenue, ideally while building a market or scaling an early revenue base.
  • Experience hiring and leading quota-carrying sellers, with a clear approach to coaching, performance and forecasting.
  • A sound grasp of commercial card economics and how to explain the working-capital case to a finance leader.
  • Credibility with senior finance, treasury and procurement stakeholders in Australia and New Zealand.
  • The commercial judgement to build trust, structure good deals and avoid selling beyond what the product can deliver.

Experience with card-based supplier payments, payment-provider partnerships or enterprise software channels would be valuable.

Why consider it?

This is a chance to own a market, not inherit a mature sales machine.

You’ll have a real target, the authority to shape how it’s achieved, and direct access to the CEO. There’s already a customer and partner foundation to build from, but plenty of room to define the sales model, grow the team and create a more predictable route to revenue.

If you enjoy winning strategic deals and building the people and partnerships that make growth repeatable, this role gives you the scope to do both.
