We're working with a brilliant tech consultancy who've spent over 35 years delivering data, digital and solutions work almost exclusively for the UK public sector. Think law enforcement, national meteorological services, consumer safety systems and greenhouse gas monitoring.
Real work, with real impact on people's lives. They've built a culture that people genuinely rate too.
The Role
You'll be leading teams of 5 to 10 through complex, cloud based delivery, keeping things moving, keeping stakeholders aligned and keeping quality high.
Specifically, you'll be:
- Owning end to end technical delivery of government projects, making sure everything meets the GDS Service Standard
- Coaching and motivating your team, building a genuinely collaborative, high performing environment
- Building strong, honest relationships with stakeholders at every level
- Leading the design and rollout of forward thinking, customer focused solutions
- Spotting risks early and managing them before they become problems
- Using commercial judgement to manage scope, timelines and resource properly
- Supporting procurement processes with clarity, from vendor engagement through to contract management
- Leading delivery of scalable, secure, resilient systems in cloud environments like AWS, Azure or GCP
What You'll Bring
- Experience working with software engineering teams
- Experience leading teams and working to GDS standards
- A strong track record delivering with Agile frameworks like Scrum or Kanban
- Proven experience leading cross functional teams under pressure
- Confidence engaging diverse stakeholder groups and translating business needs into action
- A solid grasp of commercial models and procurement processes in regulated environments
- Hands-on experience with cloud native or cloud hosted solutions
Nice to have but not essential:
Experience working within a consultancy setting, and background in Discovery or Alpha phases including user research and service design.
Because of the nature of the work, you'll need to be eligible for SC clearance, which means five years of UK residency and the right to work here.
The Details:
This role is mainly remote, with occasional travel needed to client sites or the Godalming and Milton Keynes offices.
If you've got strong GDS experience and want to lead delivery on projects that actually matter, get in touch. We'd love to talk you through this role in more detail.
