GolfForever Content Specialist
The Content Specialist plays a key role in GolfForever’s rapidly-growing business by turning high-level brand strategy into channel-level content strategies and activations across social media, website, email, blogs, digital ads, retail marketing, PR, partnerships and more. The ideal candidate is a true self-starter and talented communicator who holds an exceptional degree of empathy and the analytical chops to distribute the ideal message at the ideal time to different audience segments. This role requires someone who can confidently act as the voice of the company, and therefore we are strongly interested in candidates who have a golf industry background, knowledge of the game at all levels and our aging-golfer demographic, experience building and executing content strategies for app-based subscription businesses, and a passion for fitness and GolfForever’s mission. This position reports directly to the Senior Vice President of Brand & Communications.
Responsibilities
- Execute unique, channel-specific content strategies that fit seamlessly under GolfForever’s overarching brand strategy to drive engagement from the brand’s core demographic of aging, avid golfers while acquiring high LTV subscribers to the GolfForever app
- Own end-to-end content execution and calendars, including dedicated strategies to grow brand channels such as YouTube, LinkedIn, Facebook, the GolfForever Facebook Group, Instagram and the website blog
- Work cross-functionally with stakeholders across the organization, such as performance marketing/paid media, lifecycle marketing, product design/customer experience, wholesale, customer service and PR to strategize and execute on impactful content that drives action, with a keen attention on tone and voice across different platforms, audiences and points within the customer journey
- Strategize and lead professional content shoots with GolfForever’s PGA TOUR ambassadors and other high-profile ambassadors, as warranted within the content strategy and budget
- Work with outside contractors and agencies as additional creative resources for special projects and shoots
- Use customer data analytics to drive messaging and personalization for difference audience segments
- Work with GolfForever members, affiliates and ambassadors to aggregate and utilize various forms of UGC across all brand channels
- Work with outside partners to strategize, build and manage content that accomplishes the goals of each partnership
- Provide regular campaign performance reports for all relevant channels and KPIs, with strategies to react and improve upon low-performing areas

- A storytelling wizard whose experience in creating digital content and copy-writing spans across golf and its competitive landscape, app-based subscription business models and building and executing content strategies across a variety of platforms
- Someone who can demonstrate a high degree of empathy to the aging golf population who wants to play better and stay on the course pain-free for years to come, while bridging the worlds of fitness and golf together in a non-intimidating, low-barrier-to-entry presentation of the brand and its products
- Someone who can stay on top of golf-endemic and non-endemic trends and strategies, while executing best practices and demonstrating continued innovation
- A self-starter who performs exceptionally in a virtual startup environment where every role has a significant impact and requires true ownership to thrive within a fast-moving business that continually evolves
- An authentic ambassador for the GolfForever brand who experiences the app and program through the customer’s eyes, with ongoing focus on improving customer experience, engagement and retention
Experience and Skills Required
- 5+ years of golf industry content marketing experience, preferably at an app-based subscription business, with demonstrated experience strategizing, producing and editing video content, copy-writing, managing calendars and content across a variety of channels and departments within the organization
- A high level of golf knowledge, including its nuances of culture, demographic breakdown, the PGA TOUR, and how to message authentically about the game and golf-specific fitness
- Hands-on experience working with content creation and social media management tools, including website content management systems and email marketing platforms, such as Klaviyo or similar
- Experience with Google Analytics, website CMS, A/B Testing and other content management, analysis and creation systems
- Proficiency in analytics to determine important metrics and pathways to improvement
- Proficient knowledge of SEO/SEM
- Exceptional copywriting skills, including knowledge of AP Style
- Strong project management skills and exceptional attention to detail
