Are you an experienced project leader with a background in vocational education and a passion for making a difference? Do you want to help shape the future of training in finance and business—working with purpose and flexibility?
At the Future Skills Organisation (FSO), we’re at the heart of Australia’s skills reform agenda. As one of ten Jobs and Skills Councils established by the Australian Government, we work closely with industry, educators, and government to co-design practical, forward-looking training solutions.
We’re ready to hire a Project Lead – Finance, Business + Scale to deliver key initiatives that will modernise and improve vocational training for these vital sectors.
What You’ll Be Doing
In this hands-on delivery role, you’ll take ownership of end-to-end project management—from stakeholder engagement and procurement through to implementation and reporting. You’ll ensure projects stay on track, aligned with strategic goals, and responsive to the needs of both industry and the training system.
Key responsibilities include:
- Delivering assigned projects within scope, schedule and budget
- Leading stakeholder engagement across the finance and business sectors
- Managing procurement and contracts, including vendor coordination
- Tracking project progress, risk and financials
- Collaborating with internal teams and external providers to ensure results
- Escalating issues with clarity and solutions-focused thinking
What You’ll Bring
- Strong experience managing and delivering complex projects
- A solid understanding of the VET sector—especially within finance and business training packages (FNS and BSB)
- Demonstrated ability to manage procurement processes and contract performance
- Confident stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills
- Critical thinking, attention to detail, and clear communication
- Ability to juggle multiple priorities while maintaining high standards
Even better
- Experience in the finance or business industries
- Knowledge of training package development or training resource design
- Familiarity with tools like Asana, Hubspot, or GenAI (e.g., CoPilot)
- Experience working with or on behalf of under-represented groups or on government-funded programs
Why Join Us?
- Work that matters—your projects contribute to a future-ready workforce
- Work remotely from anywhere in Australia, with flexible arrangements
- Professional growth in a dynamic, innovative environment
- A supportive, inclusive culture built on values of curiosity, ambition, accountability, and collaboration
- Join a mission-driven organisation making real change
