About The Role We are seeking a highly skilled Cloud Developer to join our dynamic team dedicated to advancing our neonpulse platform. This role involves developing and maintaining scalable cloud and middleware services that process IoT and sensor data securely and efficiently. As a key contributor, you will work on enhancing our cloud applications, designing robust APIs, and developing frontend tools to support operational and monitoring tasks. Your expertise will help ensure the stability, performance, and continuous evolution of our platform, which plays a crucial role in modernizing the energy infrastructure. The position is initially limited to two years, offering an exciting opportunity to be part of a transformative project that accelerates the energy transition through innovative digital solutions. Qualifications

• A university degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a comparable qualification with relevant experience.
• Minimum of five years of professional experience in cloud and backend development, preferably within IoT or platform environments.
• Strong proficiency in Java, Spring Boot, and relational databases, with a focus on Microsoft SQL.
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms, ideally Microsoft Azure, and infrastructure automation tools such as Terraform.
• Practical knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, particularly with GitLab CI, to streamline deployment processes.
• Familiarity with frontend development using JavaScript and React, or a strong motivation to develop these skills.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, structured working style, and the ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
• Fluent German language skills (C1 level) and very good English proficiency (B2 level).

Responsibilities

• Develop and operate middleware services for the neonpulse platform, ensuring secure and high-performance processing of telemetry and IoT data between backend systems and third-party applications.
• Design and enhance cloud applications using Java and Spring Boot, continuously improving existing services both functionally and technically.
• Optimize database interactions by designing efficient SQL queries and leveraging Hibernate and JPA for performant data access.
• Manage deployment and operation of cloud services within Microsoft Azure, utilizing Terraform for infrastructure automation and maintaining high availability.
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines with GitLab CI to automate build, testing, and deployment processes, ensuring stability and efficiency.
• Implement RESTful APIs and gRPC/Protobuf interfaces to facilitate reliable service-to-service communication across platforms.
• Create internal tools and frontend components with JavaScript and React, including dashboards, configuration UIs, and monitoring interfaces to support operational workflows.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams—including cloud, backend, frontend, and operations—to support platform development and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Participate in technical decision-making processes, contribute to architectural discussions, and stay updated with emerging technologies relevant to the platform.
