The Role

As Senior Client Manager, you will oversee a portfolio of SMSF clients, lead a team of accountants and drive quality, turnaround and client service outcomes.

You will be trusted to lead, improve processes, solve issues proactively and help lift performance across the team.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of SMSF clients end-to-end, ensuring compliance obligations and lodgement deadlines are met
• Review financial statements, tax returns and audit workpapers to a high technical standard
• Oversee complex SMSFs including property, LRBAs and crypto holdings
• Lead, mentor and develop a team of SMSF accountants
• Manage workflow, priorities and team output in a fast-paced environment
• Act as a senior point of contact for clients, delivering proactive and professional communication
• Identify risks, technical issues and compliance concerns early
• Drive continuous improvement in systems, workflow and client experience
• Assist with onboarding and contribute to growth initiatives where required

About You

You are technically strong, commercially aware and naturally take ownership.

You bring:

• 10+ years’ SMSF accounting and compliance experience in public practice
• Strong technical knowledge of SMSF legislation and compliance requirements
• Experience reviewing work and managing SMSF clients
• Team leadership or mentoring experience
• CA or CPA qualified (or close to completion)
• Experience using BGL360 (preferred) or Class
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
• Confidence working in a paperless, cloud-based environment
• A proactive mindset, strong judgement and genuine accountability

• Experience managing high-volume workflows
• Exposure to complex or non-standard SMSFs
• Process improvement or automation experience
