Overview:
Cutter Associates is seeking a relationship-driven professional to support Cutterās research membership business and the technology providers we work with in Australia/New Zealand. The role will serve as Cutterās primary AU contact for existing members, representing Cutterās research products and services to asset managers and asset owners, including Superannuation funds. In addition, this role also serves as a regional extension of the global partnership strategy we form with technology and service providers in the region.
Success in this role requires the ability to engage credibly across the investment management ecosystem, from asset managers and asset owners to technology and service providers. By combining industry knowledge with an understanding of client priorities and operational challenges, this professional will position Cutterās research as a strategic, long-term partner rather than a transactional product. The role will collaborate closely with Cutterās Head of Research, Client Success, Research Sales, Research, Consulting, and Marketing teams to deliver a seamless experience across the full member lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
Member Success, Retention & Relationship Management
- Serve as the primary regional point of contact for members, building multi-level relationships and maintaining a clear engagement strategy and service plan for each account.
- Lead tailored onboarding and ongoing engagement, connecting members to relevant research, roundtables, webinars, in-person events, and peer connections based on their priorities and business needs.
- Conduct periodic executive business reviews and execute retention plans that demonstrate value, address evolving needs, establish clear touchpoints, and identify at-risk accounts early.
- Maintain strong regional market knowledge and bring client themes, feedback, and emerging needs to Cutterās research and leadership teams to inform events, service improvements, research content, and future priorities.
Technology Partner Management
- Serve as the regional extension of the global partnership strategy for technology and service provider partners, strengthening engagement and identifying ways to expand Cutterās presence in the local market.
- Build and manage partner relationships that create opportunities for consulting, research participation, vendor visibility, and event engagement, connecting relevant opportunities to the broader Cutter team for evaluation and execution.
- Operate within Cutterās global partnership framework and governance model to ensure regional partner activity reflects local market needs while supporting a consistent One Cutter approach.
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Reporting
- Partner with Client Success, Research Sales, Research, Consulting, and Marketing to deliver a coordinated member experience, align client needs with Cutterās research agenda, and identify relevant consulting, expanded-service, and broader commercial opportunities.
- Track and analyze engagement data, portfolio health, renewal performance, and client satisfaction to guide proactive outreach, strengthen retention, and improve the member journey.
- Contribute to internal best practices, projects that improve processes, and help reinforce Cutterās collaborative, transparent, and client-focused culture.
- Thrives in a high-autonomy environment, taking ownership of priorities and execution while maintaining a highly collaborative approach that fosters alignment, communication, and shared success across the organization.
- Support the Research Sales Principal in growing research membership through networking and referrals.
Success in this role includes:
- Achieving strong membership retention and a target renewal rate (>90%)
- Building trusted relationships across our members, technology partners, and service providers
- Driving attendance and registration at Cutter events
- Expanding Cutterās presence and reputation in the region

Qualifications:
Experience & Skills
- 5ā7 years of experience in client success, relationship or account management, managed services, or a related commercial role serving financial services, investment management (asset managers, asset owners, Superfunds), or enterprise technology clients.
- Deep understanding of the buy-side investment ecosystem and asset manager and asset owner operating models, with credibility across front-, middle-, and back-office functions, including technology, operations, data, risk, compliance, reporting, and performance.
- Strong communication, facilitation, and relationship-building skills.
- Proficiency with CRM, marketing automation, and client engagement platforms to manage relationships, track activity, and inform decisions.
- Knowledge of major investment management platforms or ecosystems such as Aladdin by BlackRock, State Street Alpha, SimCorp One, or region-specific tools like Rimes Matrix is a plus.
Education:
Bachelorās degree required. Advanced degree is a plus.
Travel:
Event-driven and as needed to build and maintain relationships with members and technology providers
