Compensation: $60 – $110 per hour

Role Overview

Experienced Data Science Experts are required to join a high-impact research collaboration with one of the world’s leading AI labs. The role focuses on developing advanced AI systems by creating evaluations for exploratory data analysis. This involves training, testing, and calibrating AI agents through the identification of patterns, trends, and associations in complex datasets — combined with producing visualizations and Python-based analyses.

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate data analysis outputs from AI systems for accuracy, clarity, and quality.
• Understand dataset context and perform statistical modeling and exploratory data analysis for both open-ended and structured prompts.
• Design prompts and build detailed rubrics for fine-grained evaluation and reward modeling.
• Produce gold-standard responses, including data visualizations, explanatory narratives, and executable Python notebooks (.ipynb).
• Translate data science reasoning and decision-making processes into clear, gradable criteria for AI agents.

Ideal Qualifications

• Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Data Science, Machine Learning, or a related field.
• 2+ years of professional experience in a data science role.
• Proficiency with Python and major data science libraries (e.g., pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn).
• Strong knowledge of data analysis techniques, statistical modeling, and machine learning concepts.
• Experience in identifying patterns and trends in complex datasets and presenting findings through effective data visualizations.
• Excellent analytical, writing, and communication skills, with the ability to convert complex findings into clear and concise insights.

Project Details

• Start Date: Immediate
• Duration: 5–6 weeks
• Commitment: ~20 hours per week (flexible)
• Location: Fully remote and asynchronous

Compensation & Incentives

• Base Rate: $60 – $110 per hour (based on experience)
• Performance Bonus: Top performers may receive an additional $20 – $50 per hour
• Status: Independent contractor
• Payments: Processed weekly
