Senior Category Manager – Construction£60,000 + car allowance + package | Remote (with travel)

We’re supporting a well-established organisation looking to strengthen its procurement team with the addition of a Senior Category Manager focused on construction.

This is a hands-on role where you’ll take ownership of construction spend, working closely with internal stakeholders and suppliers to deliver projects effectively, manage contracts, and drive commercial value.

You’ll play a key role in ensuring procurement supports the successful delivery of construction and infrastructure programmes, with a focus on practical outcomes, supplier performance, and cost control.

What you’ll be doing

  • Lead procurement activity across construction and related categories
  • Develop and manage category plans aligned to business needs
  • Manage NEC and JCT contracts, ensuring compliance and effective delivery
  • Work closely with stakeholders to support project delivery and commercial decisions
  • Build and manage supplier relationships to drive performance and value
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements
  • Support ongoing improvements across procurement processes and ways of working
  • Oversee a portfolio of construction projects and associated spend

What we’re looking for

  • Procurement experience, ideally within construction or infrastructure
  • Strong understanding of NEC and/or JCT contracts
  • Experience working closely with stakeholders in a delivery-focused environment
  • Commercially aware, with a practical and results-driven approach
  • Comfortable operating at a senior level and taking ownership of key areas

Nice to have

  • Experience within regulated environments (e.g. PCR 2015)

Additional information

  • Remote role with travel as required
  • Car allowance included

This is a great opportunity to take ownership of a key spend area within a stable, growing organisation, where you can make a direct impact on project delivery and supplier performance.
