The Role
Reporting to our Finance Manager and sitting within the Finance Chapter, this role will take ownership of key Finance operations while driving the implementation and automation of core processes, with a particular focus on Banking, Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable. You’ll combine strong Finance fundamentals with a continuous improvement mindset, turning Finance priorities into structured, practical improvements that make our processes more efficient, scalable and reliable.

What You’ll Be Doing
You will play a key role in the execution and evolution of our Finance operations, taking ownership of core processes while driving improvements to the systems and workflows that underpin them.

A key focus will be Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable, where you’ll help transition existing ways of working into more automated, structured and scalable processes. You’ll take our function’s objectives and translate them into clear workflows and deliverables, coordinating with colleagues and stakeholders to ensure improvements are implemented effectively.

Alongside this, you’ll own and support day-to-day Finance activities across multiple entities and currencies, contribute to month-end and year-end close, and deliver accurate financial information and analysis for stakeholders across the business.

You’ll bring rigour, structure and a continuous improvement mindset to the Finance Chapter. You’ll proactively identify operational blockers, challenge inefficient ways of working and implement practical improvements, while maintaining strong financial controls and the quality and integrity of our financial data.

Your key responsibilities
  • Own key elements of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable operations, ensuring balances are accurate, reconciled and effectively managed, while driving the transition towards more automated and scalable processes.
  • Drive the implementation of Finance process improvements and automation, translating objectives into structured workflows, clear deliverables and practical changes to ways of working.
  • Identify and resolve operational blockers and inefficiencies, proactively proposing and implementing improvements that strengthen controls, increase efficiency and improve visibility across Finance.
  • Execute month-end and year-end close activities, including journal preparation and posting, balance sheet reconciliations, inter-company reconciliations and review of financial data across multiple entities and currencies.
  • Perform financial analysis and data validation, investigating variances and discrepancies and taking appropriate action to maintain the integrity of information used for internal and external reporting.
  • Maintain strong financial controls, documentation and quality standards, ensuring processes are consistently followed and appropriate audit trails are maintained as Finance systems and ways of working evolve.
  • Collaborate across Finance and other Chapters to deliver transformation, automation and continuous improvement initiatives, providing practical Finance expertise throughout implementation.
  • Provide support and practical insights from day-to-day operations, highlighting emerging risks, recurring issues and improvement opportunities that can inform future Finance priorities and plans.
  • Contribute to audits and other Finance projects as required, taking ownership of agreed deliverables and ensuring they are completed accurately and effectively.
  • This is a fully remote role; however, due to some light-touch office coordination responsibilities, you’ll need to be based in Malta and able to attend our Malta office at least once per month, as well as occasionally when reasonably required.
We’re looking for…
  • Someone with solid experience in Finance operations and a strong understanding of the processes and controls that underpin accurate and reliable financial data, particularly across Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable.
  • Someone who is comfortable taking ownership of Finance processes and deliverables, working independently to move initiatives forward while knowing when to involve or escalate to others.
  • Someone with a strong analytical mindset and excellent attention to detail, able to reconcile, validate and interrogate financial information, investigate discrepancies and maintain data integrity.
  • Someone with a genuine interest in Finance systems, automation and process improvement who doesn't simply follow existing processes, but proactively looks for ways to make them simpler, more efficient and more scalable.
  • Someone able to turn objectives into structured execution, breaking improvement opportunities into clear actions and coordinating with others to see them through to implementation.
  • Someone who is organised, adaptable and comfortable operating in an evolving environment, balancing ongoing Finance responsibilities with transformation and improvement initiatives.
  • Someone who demonstrates strong collaboration and communication skills, able to work effectively with Finance and non-Finance stakeholders, surface blockers and keep relevant people informed.
  • Someone who takes pride in the quality of their work, maintaining high standards while understanding how their responsibilities contribute to the wider Finance and business objectives.
It would be a bonus if…
  • You have experience in the iGaming, digital or technology sectors.
  • You have worked with Xero, Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central or similar ERP platforms.
  • You have hands-on experience implementing Finance system improvements, automation initiatives or process transformation projects.
  • You have experience with AI-enabled or automated Finance tools, such as invoice recognition, reconciliation or workflow automation.
  • You have experience working within a multi-entity and/or multi-currency Finance environment.
What's in it for you?
This is an opportunity to go beyond traditional Finance operations and have a direct impact on how Finance works. You’ll take ownership of important Finance processes while helping shape and implement better ways of working. You’ll build hands-on experience across systems migration, automation and process transformation, with the autonomy to identify problems, propose improvements and see those improvements through to delivery. The role offers a strong balance between Finance expertise and operational transformation: maintaining the quality and reliability of our day-to-day Finance operations while making them simpler, more scalable and more effective for the future.
