We’re hiring a Senior Backend Software Engineer with deep experience in TypeScript, Node.js, and Linux.
This is not a front-end TypeScript role. We’re looking for someone with at least 5 years of professional backend TypeScript development experience, strong Node.js experience, and the ability to develop and troubleshoot within Linux environments.
A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related technical engineering discipline is an absolute requirement for this position.
Location: Remote, but candidates must live within approximately two hours of the Greater Chicagoland area.
Compensation: $130,000 to $160,000 base salary, based on experience and qualifications, plus profit sharing.
What we’re looking for:
• 5+ years of professional backend TypeScript development experience
• Strong Node.js backend development experience
• Significant experience developing and troubleshooting within Linux environments
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related technical engineering discipline
• Experience designing and developing RESTful APIs and backend services
• Strong understanding of asynchronous programming, networking, and backend architecture
• Experience with AWS or other cloud environments
• Angular and GraphQL experience are a plus
• Experience with physical products, connected devices, embedded systems, IoT, or new product development is a plus, but is not required
The most important combination for this position is strong backend TypeScript, Node.js, and Linux experience. We’re looking for someone who enjoys getting deeper into the backend and solving complex technical problems.
