Are you a communications professional looking for a fully remote role that combines media relations, digital storytelling, and data-driven impact? The Armed Conflict Location & Event Data (ACLED) is hiring an Associate Media and Digital Communications Officer to support their External Affairs team, focusing on LATAM and Asia.

This is more than just a job—it's a chance to translate complex conflict data into engaging content that informs journalists, policymakers, and researchers worldwide. If you're bilingual in English and Spanish and have 2–4 years of experience in media or journalism, this could be your next career move.

The Role

Working closely with the Media Relations Manager and social media team, you'll support ACLED's media outreach, create digital content, and ensure consistent messaging across platforms. Your day-to-day will involve:

  • Drafting press releases, media advisories, talking points, and briefings
  • Monitoring media coverage and maintaining journalist databases
  • Producing social media posts, graphics, and short-form videos
  • Supporting podcasts, webinars, and multimedia productions
  • Coordinating interviews and responding to media enquiries

You'll also have the chance to contribute to timely content linked to major data releases and current news cycles. While occasional out-of-hours work may be needed, the organisation offers time off in lieu.

What You Bring

ACLED is looking for someone with:

  • Fluency in English and Spanish (written and spoken)
  • A bachelor's degree and 2–4 years of experience in media relations or journalism
  • Strong writing, editing, and verbal communication skills
  • Experience creating digital content (social media, graphics, video)
  • Familiarity with tools like Audacity, Adobe Premiere, Descript, and media monitoring platforms
  • Knowledge of Tier 1 media outlets and the LATAM or Asia-Pacific media landscape

Bonus points if you have experience in the insurance and risk sector, know Asana or similar project management tools, or have worked in academic, data-driven, or policy-focused settings.

The Details

  • Organisation: ACLED
  • Location: Fully remote
  • Employment: Full-time, 6-month contract (possible extension)
  • Salary: US$40,000/year
  • Start Date: ASAP
  • Application: CV, cover letter, and portfolio links

This is a mid-level role perfect for someone who thrives in fast-paced, international environments and enjoys turning complex data into accessible stories. If that sounds like you, don't wait—applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
