Girls Not Brides is on the lookout for a passionate consultant or team to develop the “Playbook for Transformative Action to End Child Marriage.” This remote opportunity not only offers a chance to contribute to a global cause but also comes with a budget of £10,000 GBP.

Overview

This consultancy aims to create a strategic advocacy tool that will inspire and support collective, gender-transformative advocacy worldwide. The Playbook will serve as a guide for stakeholders at all levels to take actionable steps towards ending child marriage.

Background and Purpose

Child, early, and forced marriage and unions (CEFMU) remain a pressing issue, especially in low- and middle-income countries. The Playbook seeks to address the lack of a coordinated framework by:

  • Synthesizing effective strategies to end CEFMU.
  • Showcasing real-world case studies from diverse contexts.
  • Providing a shared narrative and action guide for various stakeholders.

Scope of Work

The consultant(s) will:

  • Collaborate with the Girls Not Brides Secretariat to design the Playbook.
  • Review existing documents and conduct key informant interviews.
  • Produce draft and final versions of the Playbook and a visual summary.
  • Incorporate gender-transformative perspectives throughout the development process.

Consultant Profile

Ideal candidates will have:

  • Exceptional writing and editing skills.
  • Experience in developing advocacy tools or policy briefs.
  • A strong background in feminist research methods and child marriage evidence.
  • Fluency in English, with Spanish or French as an asset.

Application Process

Interested consultants must submit a CV and a cover letter by 1 September 2025. The cover letter should outline their interest, relevant skills, proposed approach, availability, and consultancy rate.

This is a unique opportunity to join a global movement and make a tangible impact on ending child marriage. Your work will help ensure every girl can live free from coercion and inequality.
