Position Overview
A dynamic and impact-driven organization African Social Enterprise Workshop is seeking a People & Partnerships Manager to join its growing team. This is a full-time, remote opportunity open to candidates based anywhere in Africa. The ideal candidate will bring strong experience in business development, partnership management, and team leadership, along with a passion for advancing social impact initiatives across the continent.

Key Responsibilities
The People & Partnerships Manager will play a pivotal role in advancing the organization’s mission through strategic leadership, partnership cultivation, and program oversight. Specific responsibilities include:
Team Leadership
- Supervise a small cross-functional team, including program, media, and IT professionals
- Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and innovation
- Support team performance through regular communication and mentoring
Business Development & Proposal Writing
- Develop compelling program proposals, concept notes, and business cases to attract new partners and donors
- Lead the creation of pitch materials and partnership decks tailored to prospective stakeholders
Strategic Partnership Development
- Identify, initiate, and manage partnerships with local, regional, and international organizations
- Maintain strong relationships with ecosystem stakeholders, including civil society, private sector partners, and funding institutions
- Act as the main liaison between the organization and its external collaborators
Outreach & Collaboration
- Coordinate outreach and engagement strategies to promote current and upcoming programs
- Secure collaborations that enhance the reach, sustainability, and impact of initiatives
Program Coordination & Delivery
- Ensure effective program execution through streamlined team coordination
- Support audience engagement strategies to boost community participation and program visibility
Growth & Strategy
- Work closely with leadership to identify growth opportunities and align partnership efforts with long-term strategic goals
- Contribute to the organization’s vision by integrating insights from the field into high-level decision-making processes
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate is a motivated, strategic, and impact-oriented professional with a strong background in partnerships and team management, ideally within the nonprofit or social enterprise sectors.
Essential Qualifications & Skills
- Demonstrated experience in business development and partnership management; experience in the NGO or social enterprise space is highly desirable
- Proven ability to lead and manage teams in a remote or distributed work environment
- Strong proposal development and writing skills with the ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and persuasively
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a collaborative and inspirational leadership style
- High level of organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Proficiency in using ICT tools for communication, collaboration, and knowledge-sharing
- Self-motivated, results-driven, and able to work effectively both independently and within small teams
Location Requirements
- The position is remote and open to applicants currently residing in any African country
- Candidates must have reliable internet access and the ability to work across time zones if needed
