Civic Nation is searching for a part-time Email Assistant to join their Communications Team and support When We All Vote, a national nonpartisan initiative focused on increasing civic participation and voter engagement. This fully remote role is ideal for a strong writer with an interest in digital communications, email marketing, data analysis, and making a real civic impact.
About the Role
The Email Assistant will work closely with the Associate Director of Digital Engagement and the broader Communications Team to craft compelling email content and support digital engagement initiatives. It’s a temporary, part-time position requiring approximately 20–30 hours per week, with the assignment scheduled to conclude on December 15, 2026. The pay rate is $18.40 per hour, based in Washington, DC, but the position is fully remote.

Key Responsibilities
- Support the Associate Director of Digital Engagement with email strategy for the Party at the Polls programme.
- Develop email content and campaign ideas for Party at the Polls and other campaigns.
- Monitor Community Partner email-list performance and identify opportunities for improved segmentation and engagement.
- Compile and analyze email metrics to help inform future communications strategies.
- Build and schedule email campaigns using HubSpot.
- Provide administrative and operational support to the Associate Director.
- Perform other reasonable duties related to digital communications.
Eligibility and Desired Skills
This opportunity is perfect for a recent college graduate or current student with at least one year of experience writing and developing email marketing campaigns. Experience in a political, advocacy, or nonprofit environment is a plus. Candidates should be comfortable monitoring digital metrics and using data to spot trends and engagement opportunities.
Key skills include strong copywriting and editing, the ability to learn new tools quickly, and familiarity with HubSpot or similar email CRM platforms. You should be able to work independently and collaborate with a small team, manage competing priorities, and stay organized in a fast-paced environment. An interest in pop culture trends and familiarity with voter engagement programmes will also strengthen your application.
Compensation and Timeline
